I have been thinking of LipoDissolve for 6 months now.  I am a grad student and just finished finals, so I want to go for it over my holiday break.  I have shopped around in KC looking at prices, etc.  I will definitely have to do payment plans with my low income b/c of FT school!

My concern is.. is it really going to work?  I have read hours worth of postings.  No one talks about loving it!  They say they have seen some improvements..

There is also a lot of talk about "hard spots", etc.  Can someone respond that has done the procedure and is happy with the results?!

(FYI: I have probably 15 excess pounds in my belly.  I also have large large breasts.)  Thanks!

hey, i had lipdissolve performed on my waist yesterday.  the injections were not very painful, they were little pricks. The only problem that i experienced was that i was standing up and it made me feel light headed but the doctor was excellent and he allowed me to take little breaks. Once it was over, i did have to rest for a little while (don't exactly know why they call it lunchtime lipo) because if i had to go back to work, i would have been in bad shape. As long as you rest for a few hours, u should be fine.  There is a little nauseousness involved and i did swell and bruise.  But this is the second day and the swelling is going down. Honestly the area feels like you got your ass kicked but i swear its really not bad. i have my next series in 4 wks and i do plan on going back!

I had  my first session on Saturday 9/15/07. Not a bad experience. They gave me a protein br to eat b4 the proceedure. Having something to support your waist is very helpful afterwards, also massaging the area is very helpful. Redness is gone today, monday 09-17-06. Still swolen a bit, but it is well worth it. I have 2 more sessions. This is great. Girls, don't be such wimps. I would not hesitate to do this again. Looking forward to my next session.

Had lipodisove done 3 days ago.  I was lightheaded right after the procedure.  I think due to being nervous and tense before it from not knowing what to expect.  It actually didn't hurt that much and on my third day I have almost no swelling or pain.  I do have a minor bruise and yellowish skin in the area that was treated.  Has anybody experienced the yellow skin before?

Hi - I noticed you are also in Houston. Do you mind telling me which clinic and how much it is for the treatment. I plan to get it done this month. I have only been to one place and I think it is $350 for one area, not including the price for a few supplements they want you to take to speed up the weight loss. I met a patient in the waiting room while I was waiting for a friend and she dropped 2 pant sizes in one month after 1 treatment. Her stomach looked really flat - she said she was going to only do 1 more treatment and she would be happy.

I had lipo dissolve done on my love handles 01/07/08 by a doctor in Aurora, IL. Very nice lady. And yes, there was tolerable pain, bruising, and swelling. I had the procedure done about 7pm. I don't recall being nauseated or light-heated., but I took 2 tylenol before leaving the clinic, and the pain was gone by the next morning. I was still swolen and very sore in the treatment area, but was able to move about with no issues. I did where a fitted surgery garment for about a week to compress the swelling, and so that I wouldn't look deformed in my clothes. Most people go back for treatments within 2-3 weeks. My doctor recommends 6 - 8 weeks. She is an Indian, board certified doctor, and indicates that most doctors encourage 2-3 weeks, because the swelling hasn't totally went down, and it's an incentive to continue to charge you money. She also said that on average, most clients should only need 2, maybe 3 treatments as opposed to 4-6. I'm on my 3rd week, and have notice a big difference. The swelling and bruising have totally went away, but when I touch the area, I can tell that there is still some sensation there. I will go back for my 2nd and final treatment on 2/18/08. Good look to all of you....By the way, my treatments are $400/per treatment area.

I am from Toronto, Ontario, CANADA.

I had my first lipodissolve treatment done on Thursday January 24th, 2008 at 2:00 pm.  I had my lower abdmone just below my belly button and my love handles done.  The initial shots did not hurt that much - they felt like a typical shot.  I wore jeans into the session (big mistake) because I could not do them up afterwards.  Anyhow...I wasn't too sore just annoyed by the feeling.

The next day which was Friday...I spent the entire day in bed. I had a hard time moving around and needed help to get up. I was sore and in pain. I got out of bed twice and that was to use the washroom.

Saturday - was still pretty bad but the swelling and the pain went down.

I spent most of Sunday in bed.  I finally went to work on Monday.

Monday - I was unable to do my regular pant zipper up.  I do not fit into my normal jeans or pants.  I had to go to work with my pants half zipped and my shirt out (people were asking if I was pregnant.)

Tuesday - today...I am still feeling irritated in the lower abdomen area.  It is tender.

I really never want to go back and do it again...I will really have to see. I just want the swelling to go down.  I weighed myself and I weigh 5 pounds more than I normally do - is that normal????

I will keep you updated.  By the way my package is four sessions for about $800.00 Canadian.

I certainly know how you feel. I think the first few treatments are the absolute worst! I started getting abs and love handles and arms and braline back in November. I alternated areas.I was getting poked every week. I have to say, the stomach is the worst. I have had a total of 9 treatments up until January 3rd. Then I got really sick. I am getting over pneumonia right now and will not think about getting my last 2 treatments on arms/bra and last 1 on abs/lovehandles until I feel confident I'm not going to drop dead. Plus, my tryglicerides and cholesterol are up. Don't know why. I'm 5'2" and weigh about 113. I will go back when I can but right now I still have some hard lumps and skin is still tender. It takes a while for those suckers to go away. Even though I have put on a little wieght from being sick (and I quit smoking before I started the procedures) I see some results now mainly in my back area and arms. You will tend to weigh more for a little while after getting injected. I looked about 4 months pregnant for a while after each torture session. Advice: Ice your areas before you get poked. Also, keep a couple of those large Heat/Ice gel packs in the freezer and try to get them on you as soon as you can afterwards. My friend and I take cold packs with us to endure the drive home. Also, my nurse applies witch hazel with cotton balls right after. Take extra-strength 45 minutes prior-no anti-inflammatories of any kind (Ibuprofin, etc.). If you can find it where you live (usually in health stores) take 4 arnica pills under the tongue a few times a day and I have arnica spray I use the day after. It helps sooth a bit. I also have found that wrapping with a wide ace bandage really helps and applying cold packs over.Listen to your body. It will start to do some weird things. Your stomach may start feeling upset, gassy. I also would leave at least 3 weeks in between treatments. Two weeks really isn't enough time and I heard you will actually have better results if you give your body time to "process" the fat. Last but not least....massage, massage, massage! It does help break down the fat nodules faster.

So I went for a consultation last night.  I live in NJ and had never heard of this treatment until I went to the doctors (my brother works at the place as their head massage therepist)  I was initialy going in for cellulite and they recommened me getting my "saddle bags" taken care of since they think it is the cause.
Anyway I am suppose to go next Tuesday for my first treatment.  I am nervous because I have been to other sites and heard horror stories!  it is not FDA approved and that makes me second think this.  I am 5'4 117 pounds.  I do not have a problem with my weight. I do hate the problem area though.  They said that I am a "perfect" cadidate beacuse I am thin, have a great diet and exercise.  It is a doctor that does the procedure.  And they even have gotten it done themselves.  Is this something that you did research on beforehand?  I dont want to look worse after the treatment or gain weight.

I had my first treatments done on Wednesday, Feb 13th. I am having my thighs (all the way around) and my love handles done. The thighs are being considered 3 areas and the love handles one. I am spending $3000 for 4 treatments on each area total.

about my experience....
We started with the love handles. The doctor wanted me to stand up so he could see the way the fat distributed. Well...I passed out, cold. So he layed me down and I passed out again. The shots were excruciating for me and I don't think I have that low of a tolerance for pain. The fronts and the outer portions of the thighs made me want to puke. He said it was probably because the hide of the skin in much tougher there and the needle has to puncture harder to get through.

I left the clinic at 4:45 and went to dinner with my son. By the time we got home I felt like I had the flu. I ended up in bed by 7pm and was so uncomfortable I tossed all night. The next day I felt like I had been in a car wreck. I could hardly walk and I had to wear sweats. Today is day three. I wore jeans today but I felt like a cow! I am so swollen I was busting out of them in my waist and thighs, lol!

All that said, I'll still do it again. Hell, I can't imagine what a surgical form of fat removal would feel like! I'm dying to see my results.

Has anyone taken measurements before/after??? I took mine before and I was just curious as to some numbers people have lost. I am hoping to lose 2-3 from each thigh and the same for my love handles.

by baseballgirl, Feb 17, 2008 02:34PM
To: lady....
Just to let you know you won't see results for about 6 mo. I started mine last summer, but kept taking breaks because it is painful and the swelling makes it hard to do anything.(stomach and love handles) I still have 1 treatment to go on each area, but will not finish, I was left with a lot of purple spots, some have been there since last May....I do see an improvement, but the spots are soo ugly, worse than the fat! I am 5'5 and 125lbs, so only wanted to get rid of trouble spots... I did GAIN weight , only because i was immobile for a week each time and out of the gym for about 2 weeks, so every month I only had  a  little excersize...back down now to reg weight but I should have just went for reg. liposuction, less pain and only 1 time....I sure hope it works for you, this is just my experience...

Hi All,

So good to find this forum, and b'girl, I'm sorry you and I are in the same boat.  I had this procedure done last fall on my inner thighs, and also was left with purple spots--yikes.  As you say, they're worse than the cellulite I was trying to remove.  Have you noticed ANY improvement at all?  And what does your doctor say?  I haven't had the heart or money to go back yet to mine, who wasn't too encouraging.

If anyone has suggestions for at-home remedies, I'd really appreciate it!  I've tried arnica and the like, but no luck yet.

Thanks!

I still have a few lumps..Maybe when they go away completely the spots will look better?? Are you dark skinned also?  Yes and If ANYONE knows of anything please pass it along! Thanks. Sandee

I had Lipo Dissolve done Wednesday Feb 27-2008 to my abdomen.  I didnt have any trouble with the injections matter a fact most all of them i didnt even feel.  I did have the burning and itching right after like a bee sting but mostly that was all.  I wore a abdominal support brace home and didnt take it off at all except to go to the restroom for 48 hours.  Tonight i showered and took it off and i am fine.  Some mild bruising and a pretty good amount of swelling i look like i am about 4 months pregnant but the pain and discomfort are pretty much gone!
My question is i have felt nauseous the past few days and dont know if its from the procedure or some sort of flu symptoms.  Has anyone had spells of nausea post treatment?

Hi Lexi,  My mom and I have both had the procedure.  She had her neck and chin done.  She was really swollen for a few days, and looked like one of the Klumps or Fat Albert.  Not pretty...  But 6 weeks later, I could definitely tell a difference.  She had another session about a week ago, and she is still a little swollen, but not too bad.  She has also had an Accent treatment (some kind of laser I think??) for skin tightening, which also helps.

I had the procedure done on my inner thighs 5 days ago.  The first day after the shots, I was REALLY swollen... not really too sore, but just swollen.  The second day, I was less swollen and even went shopping for a couple of hours.  Yesterday (day 3) I went to work, and had no problem.  Today, the swelling is a little less, but still not back to 100% normal.

My doctor said to take hot baths after 48 hours and massage the area for 15 mins each day to encourage faster healing.  I have been drinking a lot of water, too, which helps.  I did gain weight from having the procedure done (about 5 lbs) but I think it is because of water retention and swelling.

My legs feel hot to the touch and are numb, but no bruising... I had just a little on Saturday and Sunday, and then most of it went away.  I am red headed and fair skinned.  My mom is blonde, and fair skinned, and she bruised a little worse than me, but only of the 1st time she had the treatment.  The second time she had really no bruising.

My mom does have the hard nodules under her chin, but the doctor says those will go away.  it's the fat hardening...I don't have the nodules yet... it takes about 2-3 weeks for those to form, I think.

One of the nurses in the office had the procedure done on her thighs only 1 time, and she lost 3 inches....  So I am hopeful to loose at least 2!

Anyway, overall the procedure wasn't that bad... Just a little uncomfortable the following day.  I suggest getting it done late on a Friday afternoon.   Take a Zanax before you have the procedure done and a Lortab... ask the doctor for it....    Take it about an hour before the shots.  Then about 2 hours after the procedure or 3, take another Lortab.  That should help you sleep.

hope this is helpful!

Hi again, and thanks for the info.  I'm very pale actually, so the purple spots are pretty darn vivid :(  One thing I JUST tried that may help you too is Benadryl cream.  I don't know why I didn't use it earlier--my doc's assistant suggested some of my reaction could be allergic, but the doc himself said no, cream wouldn't help.  Maybe I should've listened to HER instead.  Because after 24 hours, Benadryl seems to be making a difference...I'll let you know if it's a permanent fix.

Good luck to all!

Here in Phoenix I was told about a nutritionist that for $80 a session does accupuncture and lipodissolve shot and the person lost 20 pounds then you go back in 15 days. When you lose the weight you don't continue the treatments but she gives you a lifetime nutritional menu to follow. Now I'm reading this forum and wondering if 15 days is a bit early?

Sounds like a farce....lipodissolve consists of about 8 BIG syringes about 50 injections and requires at least 4-6 treatments at around 1800-2500 per area. I paid 2200$ per area.

I had Lipodissolve before and I think I saw some good results after 2 treatments.  I went back last night and I had a bad experience.  My Nurse Practitioner who administers the injections added one or two additional chemicals to the phosphatidalcholine.  Result: 3 hours later I had very heavy pain in the stomach area where the injections were administered, and I also started to develop strong flu-like symptoms which I still have today.  She told me before the shots that some people had bad reactions to the new chemicals and I thought "won't happen to me."
I believe the range of experiences on this site have to do with the specific type of chemicals and quantities being used in the treatment.
Anyone agree?

I had lipodissolve yesterday at 11:30am.  During the session I felt nothing.  I had abdomen, love handles and bra fat done all at the same time.  Last night, I was extremely swollen and could barely move my stomach was so sore, and this is with ice packs in a back brace.  This morning, I'm still swollen, although it has gone down, but I haven't unwrapped the tensor yet, so who knows what that looks like.  I am extremely sore, I can't stand up straight, it feels like I have been kicked and beaten severly in the stomach.  Is this normal, does anyone know.  I'm still using ice packs and taking tylonel for pain, but damn this hurts.  Do I regret doing it, not yet.  And how long does this pain last for?  Should I be using something other than a tensor bandage to hold my abdomen area in?

by jm1379, Apr 24, 2008 07:40PM
I started the treatments last May, I'm very happy with it, I did my chin and what a difference it has made. My stomach is smaller, and the stretch marks look so much better. but yes there is some pain after, but I always say no pain no gain.....
my daughter has had her thighs done and she said it is really bad. But she went back to finish them.
I was told that the lumps were the fat cells growing bigger with the medication, and they do go away. I was told to wait 6-8 weeks between treatments. Drink lots of water and massage the area.

You should not have an LPN administer the shots.  A Doctor that is skilled in this procedure should.  Also, people have had bad reactions to this when LPN's and certain Doctors start mixing different medications.  It is not good.  The only medication that I have injected into me is Phosphatidylcholine with saline.  I had 4 treatments on my saddlebags and 2 more to go with one week in between.  So far, I am just swollen, and have the lumps which get better with time.  Other than that the only pain I have is for 24 hours after.  It is sore and swollen and gets red.  There are also indentations in certain spots where I am being treated but that should also go away with time.  I know that it is a slow process and make take 6-8 weeks after my last treatment to see my final results.  The Doctors are great and informed me of what to expect.

I had my first injection 2 weeks ago on my lower abdomen and i'm going in tomorrow for the 2nd of 6 treatments.  The doctor said he wants 2 weeks between treatments.  I'm still pretty tender and the nodules are vile.  The day after the first injection I look like I was stowing a cantaloupe in my gut.  It was awful and not comfortable.  It took a good 4 days for the swelling to go down to a normal range.   Plus my stretch marks seemed to get huge again...like they're remembering the pregnancies!  LOL.  Please tell me that this is worth the pain and money!

I'm a male, 46, and have been exercising (both cardio and weights) since October 2007. But I have these trouble spots around my chest (mostly around the nipples). Couldn't stand not going to the pool with my kids anymore so I had my first round of lipo dissolve coupled with vela shape 16 days ago on both sides of my chest. I'm still somewhat swollen, but not nearly as bad as the first week or so after the treatment. The fat nodules have kicked in and man are they a pain! I had three accumulate on my left side and they really hurt. Had to have them loosened up with another round of velashape. Now I have this weird feeling in my body like the fat is traveling all around, and getting "clogged" up and causing pressure in different spots. I think it's my imagination, but who knows. I'm scheduled for my second round of lipodissolve in another week and half, and am hoping all or most of the swelling is gone by then, and that the nodules are mostly gone by then so that I can see some results and start feeling like myself again. If not, I might postpone for another week just to get the sensation of normality in my body again before I start this whole process over again! I also feel pain/numbness in my left shoulder/upper arm, which is the side that received more of the ingredients since there was more fat on the left side of my chest than the right side.

I had seven injections  for seven months, the last injection was in June 2007.I had them on my love handles, but instead of correcting the area, they have damaged it and make it  bigger than before the  injections. After one year  and half, I was hopping it will  go away but it didn't.I feel so bad in my dresses now .My behind has doubled,And I would't advise any body to go for a lipodissolve injection.

I would recommend anyone getting lipodissolve to make sure he/she exercises and eats right the majority of the time. The reason is because you will start seeing fat in other areas where you didn't gain weight before. I have been doing lipodissolve for over a year and now I am seeing the fat deposit in other areas. You MUST at a minimum maintain your weight if you want this to be successful.

I got many areas of my body treated and have noticed that I am getting fattier under my arms and also in the pelvic area because the fat falls are pretty much gone in the abdomin (abdomen). If I gain much weight, this might look really weird. I work out pretty regularly but I just noticed the fattier area around my pelvis (female) over the past month or so (this is a year later). I would seriously consider not doing the lipodissolve if you fluctuate in weight alot. You MUST workout on a regular basis to maintain a normal looking appearance otherwise you will gain weight in strange areas. The last thing you want to have is a big bulge on your elbow or under your arm pit - trust me. I am a little worried about it because I have not yet had kids and I hope that if I do, I don't gain weight in my pelvic area - talk about looking weird. So now I have to make sure that I really eat right and continue to workout so that I don't have a flabby pelvis! Scary...

by Brewster354, Oct 21, 2008 10:33PM
I also wanted to add that I did drop one clothing size from doing the lipodissolve...but I'm going to have to worry about weight gain in the weird areas...so either way...I still have to watch my weight and exercise, exercise, exercise so that it doesn't look like i have soccer balls in my groin area...and im a girl!

The lipodissolve does work, but you have to be advised of the ramifications of not working out and eating right most of the time. You have to think to yourself, am I trading one issue for another????

I would advise that you just workout with a trainer personally. I was happy until I noticed the fatty pelvis and now I'm wondering if I should have just changed my workout to target those areas. Nothing in this world is easy...just remember that.

I just had my first session of Lipodissolve last Saturday.  I had the full 100ccs that is the maximum per visit.  I had 60 in my abdomen and 40 in my love handle areas of the hip and lower back.  I selled up immediately and bruised within 2 hours.  I looked like I was about 5 months pregnant and it was very painful but getting better now.  I'm into my 5th day after and the swelling is going down quite a bit.  I was concerned about a couple of things so I called the doctor and she reassured me that all was normal.  My swelling seems to have moved south into my pelvic area and she said that is because of gravity. When you are on your feet all day or even sitting at a desk all day, this can happen so if it happens to you, don't be alarmed, it is normal.  She also told me that the people that tend to swell and bruise the most, usually have the best results.  I hope this helps all of you!  I will keep you posted on my results.

Well, it's been about 3 months, have had 4 treatments in my chest area. Just had the last one today, which was just a "touch up" to get at the small remaining areas. Only needed 16 ccs on the left and 12 ccs on the right. After the 3rd time, it was like I was back to normal within 48 hours, exercising, swelling was practically gone. I anticipate the same for this last time around, since I received an even smaller dose as compared to my 3rd visit. So, would I do this again? Well, let's just say I'm glad it's over, but overall, it wasn't too bad of an experience. Had a great RN, with wonderful bedside manner, and the folks that did the velashape were also very nice and informative. I believe I was the first man that had his chest done at this particular center. I'm not saying I look perfect, but I look and feel a hell of a lot better, and will likely finally go to the pool again after about 18 years of being in hiding from any public places that involved water! I do agree with the person who commented about watching your diet and exercise going forward, because you WILL gain in different places in your body, post treatment. For example, I think your second place to gain weight will now be your first place to gain (assuming that you treated your "first place trouble spot"). For me, it was my chest. I do feel a little poofier in the abdomen now, but that's where a man is supposed to gain, and I'd rather have it on my stomach than on my chest any day. However, I do plan to stay on top of it and will likely even step up my exercise to get off the remaining 10-12 pounds I need to get off to achieve my ideal weight. Anyway, if I didn't have the procedure, even if I had lost more weight, I know I would have never gotten my chest to look the way I needed it to. Good experience overall, and it sure beats the hell out of surgery!

I had lipodissolve 1 1/2 yrs ago on my inner thighs.  The brusing on the right leg took 1 yr 2 months to go away and the left leg is has still some brown spots that look like healing bruises.  Will these ever go away?  Is there anything I can do?

Hi all, I had lipodissolve done on Monday August 3rd, 3 days ago.  I had my entire abdomen done.  It was very painful.  I look like I am pregnant and it feels like I have a hard snake across the inside of my stomach.  Can anyone tell me when and if this feeling will go away?
