Hi.. I just wanted to chime in... I took (and will take again) Topomax (topamax) for migraines because I could no longer take the "after the fact" drugs for them like midrin ect.. due to a stroke. I loved it... the first month or so really is aweful because the side effects are fairly negative during that time but after that.. GREAT, no migraines and I went from a size 12 to a 3 .. seriously I did still eat but I had so much energy all the time and worked out and did things during the day instead of being a slouch. The head fog is not so good in the beginning but I got all A's in college (I am in school for Microbiology) so it wasn't that bad. I lost my insurance and had to wean of.. got headaches all the time and gained 20 pounds .. but now I'll go back on it definately b/c i'm insured again. Give it a try it's a great med just have patience with the side effects they do go away ( the bad ones anyway) Good luck everyone

my doctor put me on topomax (topamax) as well he told me to take 1 100 mg each night before bed, but i didn't really lose any wieght . how much was you taking and how often, maybe i didn't give it long enough to work.
