My recommendation is for any woman or girl thinking about an abortion to do it sooner rather than later. For the girl in the post, I'd say if her parents are serious about this, she should have it in the next two weeks. good luck
There are a couple states that go up to 26 but it is state by state.
It DOES depend on the state. I think it is really hard on a 13 year old to have a baby. Her parents should check in their state or nearby states. Many now have laws protecting abortion rights until 20 weeks. But if they act soon, first trimester is usually a safe bet that she will be able to have an abortion. Then her parents can help her find the right birth control method. good luck
Actually, there is a place in san Francisco that will do an abortion up to 34 weeks... isn't that insane???? But poor girl... I hope she's ok
In new Zealand it's 12 weeks at a clinic but if you go to the woman's hospital it's 20 weeks which is horrible. But you have to give them good reason and what not.
I'm in Idaho also where the 13yr old is so I'll be reviewing the requirements laws & rules about abortion here to help her and her family learn more.
I might be wrong but when I got the 5 year IUD they had to pre approve you for it. I had to be in a committed relationship, in a certain age bracket and they said it helps that I was stable and had children. Now that was also almost 6 1/2 years ago so things could be much different now.
the worst part is that it happened in school!! I don't know what I'd do as a parent in a situation like that with my child who was only 13 :( its my job to help this family come to a resolution whether it be abortion or adopting out the baby it is just so sad
I know Planned Parenthood will give her birth control for free at that age, anyone under 17 can get it for free. maybe talk to her about getting the five-year implant. if we can't stop her from having sex at least it will be protected. poor girl she is so young I bet she is scared
Definitely disturbing and so sad I agree! I don't see why the parents would of waited so long if this was the plan I mean to me even 12weeks is far along for one :(
Its a state by state thing, however on a federal level it cannot be after 20 weeks.
I use to work at a women's shelter in Utah and there's was 14weeks if I remember right but I'm in another state so I know different rules and laws apply here. I had to ask , its such a bad situation! She's still a child herself
It depends on the state but for most it's 12 weeks.
21 weeks in CA. Which is so disturbing and sad.
it depends on the state but I think the maximum is 12 weeks you can not go past the first trimester
