Best Time to get Pregnant during Period

When are the best and worse times to try to get pregnant during a period.  Is it not true that immediately following ovulation, which is 2 weeks after the period starts, is the best time to try and get pregnant.  Also immediately before and after a period starts is the worst time, correct?  Thank you in advance for your advice.

If you had unprotected sex you can be pregnant. You are going to have to wait a couple weeks to find out.
Get on some birth control if you don't want to get pregnant.

delicate - you can buy a bottle of pee sticks at any drug store cheap, and they can tell you when you have an LH surge.  Ovulation happens usually around 24 hours after you first detect the LH surge.  you should test for LH surge on same time every day.  I have a cycle of 26 days and my surge is detected on usually day 9.  So every body is very different.  The only real way to tell when you are about to ovulate is to test for it.  That's your most fertile time.  Keep in mind sperm can live inside you for 5 days.  So if you are avoiding pregnancy based on the timing you should really watch your LH levels and be aware of the windows in which you are slightly fertile to very fertile.

Cholera - most healthy couples try for 1 year before getting pregnant.  Don't stress just try and test for your LH surge then have entercourse very often right when you detect the surge.  It took me a year to get pregnant with all 3 of my pregnancies.  They say after a year it's about time to see a fertility specialist who can start to help you figure out if there is a problem or not.

Stass - just relax and time will tell :)  get the "test 5 days sooner" pregnancy tests at any drug store and test earlier if you want.... which may not be positive even if you are pregnant.  since you are relaxed about it just wait and see.  There is a chance for your situation to go either way.

Misty - You should talk to your OBGYN about those issues.  They know more about why you only have periods on your pills and can help you to a clue better than we probably can.  :/

your o time is actually better determined 2 weeks before you get your next af.   reason for that is most of us dont have a typical 28 day cycle.  my cycle was 31-32 days.  so if i went by the 14 day after, i could have been too early.  pregnancy can take place anytime during the cycle, if you should happen to o at an "odd" time.  and unless you know your body or have tracked it with opk or bbt then you dont know.  using the bbt help a lot of women they can see after a few cycles when it might be happening.  the opk can tell you a day before you o.  your body can help with checking your cm.  if you google you can find lots of info.

My boyfriend and i recently broke up.  I stopped taking my birth control pills.  I had a period that started on the 10th and ended the 15th. We had sex on the 22nd but he pulled out.  He is freaking out because he says that even though he pulled out that some must have gotten inside of me.  Is there a possibility that I could be pregnant?  I would think that since I have not ovulated for the next month and since I just stop taking birth control pills, which means that some hormones must still be in my body that it is not even possible.  All of his freaking out has started to make me concerned. Do I need to be?
