put johnsons baby oil on your baby's head about 10 minutes before bathtime. Then while giving him/her a bath get a toothbrush and gently rub her head. then wash hair/head as usual. My daughter had it bad I never went to the doctors for it this always worked.
My pediatricians office hands out a little "how to" book for the parents of newborns. In there it states that for cradle cap you should use a pH balanced shampoo such as Paul MItchell or Redken. Good luck! :)
There is an expensive shampoo by Mustela that's designed just for cradle cap and it worked quite nicely for us. Otherwise olive oil or baby oil can work well too (just a bit messier than the $$$ shampoo!).
my daughter is 4 and still had **** on her head.. i have tried different shampoos i have used Redken and baby oil. i have used lotion and still i have not had any results. could this be something else other than craddle cap. done it for to many years and dont no..
My son had cradle cap as an infant, I used olive oil and a toothbrush to remove it. While he slept I held him on my lap and brushed it off. Using the brush at an angle and sort of pulling at it seemed to help remove it faster. It was completely painless for him, he slept through it, but it did remove some baby hair which grew back quickly. He is now 3 and for a long time still had reoccurrances of cradle cap, his barber recommended a dandruff shampoo, I got pantene dandruff shampoo with conditioner and he doesn't even have flaky skin anymore.
