1 Labia minora is bigger than the other, and is purple and softer than the other. What is going on??

I think it has been a month or so. One of my labia minora is twice as big as the other and is purple in color. The two used to be separated but now they are glued together unless I put my finger through it. I do not masturbate (I really don't, at least not these days) and I have had no sexual experience yet. I am 18 and is currently on diet. The scary part is that, when I really noticed it last night when I was peeing, I touched the bigger labia because I was afraid. And it was too soft, and looked as if it was about to fall out. I am really scared now and I can't tell anyone or go to the doctor. Will it go away by itself? What caused it?

One of my labia majora is much bigger than the other one on the upper half of my vagina, it's always been like that and makes it look slightly lopsided. It's normal, no labias are exactly identical.
If you're really worried, there are clinics that can take a look and see if there something wrong, without telling anybody or you needing to pay, all you need to do is do some googling.
I know vaginal issues can be both scary and embarrassing to deal with or get looked at, but I promise you the examination isn't that bad and unless something is wrong, you'll most likely only need to be showing your privates for 20-30 seconds or so. Find a trusted older person, possibly a friends parent if you can't go to family, if you're worried. You'll be okay, good luck.

There is nothing wrong with you. Your labia is a normal part of your body. You cannot cause your labia to grow. Your labia grows during and after puberty. You can have 4 inch labia and be a virgin or have no labia and have had sex 100 times. Masturbating (or touching and exploring it) also does not cause the labia to grow.

No two labia look the same. Our labia can have different textures (smooth, or bumpy), different edges (smooth or jagged), different colors (purple, pink, brown, black, nude, etc.), different sizes (3/4-4 inches), and all around look different. One side of the labia minora may be far larger than the other side, this is normal. Most labia are not identical. Heck, some women only have a labia minora on one side. Some stick out past the lips (labia majora), some are hidden. Some hug together, some fly apart. They are ALL beautiful and unique.

The answer is learning to love what you have and realizing it is not only normal but common. This is not a problem. It is normal. Look at tumblr's 'Large Labia Project' to see some of the variation that exists in labia - don't worry if you don't see a similar one, like I said, no two labia are the same. In survey's, men either like a long labia, or don't care.

Porn has RUINED what women think their labia should look like. Pornstars get their labia cut off and bleached. It is NOT an accurate depiction. If you look at porn from 10-15 years ago, they all had normal labia, ranging is size, color, and texture. In fact, the majority had labia that was 2+ inches.
