12 days having my period, but dark brown blood, and unexplained clot!

MY PERIOD IS IRREGULAR. MONTH OF FEB. 2011 I GOT IT ON THE 17TH, 2 DAYS IT WAS DARK BROWN, THEN BY THE THIRD DAY IT WAS PRETTY HEAVY, AT NIGHT I WAS FEELING SO MUCH TIGHTNESS AND PAIN IN MY LOWER TUMMY. (I HAVE 3 KIDS) SO IT FELT JUST LIKE CONTRACTIONS. THE NEXT DAY I CHECKED MY PAD THERE WAS WHAT I THOUGHT A BLOOD CLOT BUT THIS WOULD NOT BREAK AWAY WHY TH NORMAL CLOTS. IT LOOKED JUST LIKE TISSUE FROM THE INSIDE, AS BIG AS A TABLESPOON (ROUND PART) I GOT PRETTY SCARED DIDNT KNOW WHAT IT IS. ITS BEEN 12 DAYS AND IM STILL LETTING OUT DARK DARK BROWN BLOOD OR SOMETHING. WHAT CAN THIS BE? I HAVENT MADE AN APPT WITH MY GYNO BUT IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT MAY BE HAPPENING OR IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ANYONE. MIND SHARING WHAT THIS COULD BE?

Try to get to your gyno. She can perform tests and go over with you what you just explained here. You have a history of miscarriage, even though just one. Not sure how long you've had irregular periods but there are ways the doctors can regulate it if its gone on like that for too long.

Im only 25 and this is the first time this has happened.. Ive had one miscarriage back in 2006. Ever since then Ive had 2 baby boys. This time around its nothing like I went thru back then.
Stress I could probably relate to that Ive got a 8, 4 and a 1 year old i chase after and sickly grandma who I am taking care of. So much stress.. Its just weird cause I change my panty liner/or pad almost 5 times a day its blood/ mostly the dark brown.

I'm glad that you made an appointment for the GYN. Brown blood indicates old blood, which is usually harmless. Age, stress, hormonal factors can contribute to the irregualrity of periods so it's good to find out.

I am a female 59 years old, but when I was in my forties, your type of period happened quite often.  As I grew older, there were more clots and the blood was very dark.  To make a long story short, I ended up getting a hysterectomy from the clots and bleeding which would go on for days and days.  My dr. told me I was in danger of bleeding to death, and that I should not delay.  Being younger, however, you may try getting on "the pill" to regulate your periods.  I know many women who have had great success with that type of remedy.  Good luck.
