12 days late and just now getting my period??

i was 12 days late on my period and just today (july 17) i started bleeding. can someone tell me why this is happening. Is it period, spotting, implantation? any questions / comments welcome. i would like some help.

if it's implantation bleeding, it would happen about 10 days after actual intercourse. so im gonna guess it's not that. also, is it spotting? if it is totally different from your normal period (absolutely no pattern of light, heavier, really heavy) then it might be spotting, but since you just started today you're gonna need to wait and see if that light to heavy pattern happens. Just wait it out. In a few weeks you could take a home pregnancy test, but until then look for these other signs.

you do not need to wait to take a test...you can take one now. you were already late.

The same thing has happened to me.. but i havent taken a pregnancy test yet.  i have been having all the symtoms of being pregnant. im almost positive that i am. I have been trying to get pregnant with my husband for a while now. Befor i met him my doc told me that i might not  be able to get pregnant. but all the things i am feeling are definatly sympotms of pregnancy. i was 10 days late, and am having spotting now i have nasua after every meal.. mood swings that my husband cant deal with.(got kicked out of a mini mart because of) cravings like pickles, sore nipples...i just dont know what to do... i want a kid sooo bad i prayed everyday like 20 times that i was going to be pregnant 2 days after my missed period...and then i come home from work and i saw a litte bit of blood..i started crying because  thought that it was my period but now i think that im just spotting....all my life i didnt have anything tat i could call myne everything was broken borrowed never returned somone elses.. im sick of it i want something thats going to love me forever....My husband got me a kitten because we have been trying and no luck. i have been verry depressed about it and he thought a cat would help wth my emotons... please if you have any kind of help please email me a ***@****
