Each colposcopy again showed some minor changes but each time I was told I was to come back in 6 months to see if the cells had gone back to normalNormal saline flush, but they haven't.
Went to my GP a couple of days ago who had a look and said I had cervical erosion which might be the reason as he couldn't see anything else. However, I'm not completely convinced.
I'd due for my next colposcopy in 2 weeks but I didn't think they could do one if you're bleeding??
Anyone else bled for this long or had anything similar?
I'm not a dr but all the bleeding sounds like it could be hormonal. Sometimes they can get that under controlControl Control rx with birth control pills. When you see the doctor for the next colposcopy, be sure you tell him about the bleeding although it sounds like there isn't any way he/she could miss it. I had an abnormal pap and colposcopy too but never had the bleeding like you describe so that's why I'm thinking it might be hormonal. I'm sorry I can't be more help but I really wish you well.
If the doctor won't/cant' help you with the bleeding, please find another dr b/c I really think that is something that should be resolved pretty easily.
What sort of other tests has your doctor done for you? I had the same exact symptoms you have at the same age you are having them. I was also 26 when I had cervical lesions. I am now 46. Back then (in the 80's), my doctor did cryosurgery on the lesions and this cured it. The lesions disappeared and my symptoms were gone. I have also had normal Pap tests since. Has your doctor suggested cryosurgery?
My doctor suggested cautery and told me to mention it when I go for my colposcopy - he didn't do any tests other than an internal examination. Hopefully cautery will stop the bleeding.
I wonder if it's worth getting my iron levels checked out as I generally feel pretty run down!
