7 weeks pregnant, sharp needle-like pain in pelvic area

I am 7 weeks, 2 days along and I have noticed that in the pelvic area it feels like needles poking through my uterus. It doesn't feel like period cramps, it just literally feels like sharp needles poking through. Is this normal?

I am 5 weeks pregnant and have similar pain. Is that normal? I would appreciate you sharing your pregnancy story.

Hi there and welcome.  Well, I'm trying to remember my pregnancies.  I remember all sorts of odd little this or that feelings.  Ligaments stretching is a common source of pains like perhaps you are describing.  If you think about the amazing thing the body is doing in creating another human being . ..   it is mind boggling, really.  So, I do think twinges, minor pains, strange feelings in the pelvic area are all normal.  If it turns from annoying to real pain, then absolutely call your doctor!

You are almost 8 weeks.  I know in my area, that is when most women have their first prenatal visit.  This will be a great time to ask any and everything of your doctor.  I kept a notebook and wrote questions down and took it with me to appointments so I didn't forget to ask something.

good luck and happy baby growing!  peace
