A FEW QUESTIONS

Hello, It's me again I was just wondering I am 17wks and 5 days pregnant and 40 yrs old.I had read that it is better for a pregnant woman to sleep on her left side to provide more oxygen to the baby. Well I wanted to know is it bad to sleep on your right side I find it quiet hard to sleep on my left side since I have always slept on my right side. And also when can a woman feel her baby move I have 5 girls and I seem to have forgotten since it has been fifteen years since my last baby.I am 192 lbs. and have always been kinda big around my belly only. But I have not felt my baby move. Other than that everything is fine my baby's heart rate is around the 140 to 150's and I go for my 2nd level ultrasound on the 20th of Dec.I am praying that everything is fine with my little angel.Hubby is wishing for a BOY but I just want a fine healthy baby. Well I will be waiting for your responses. Thank you very much.

it's funny, i cant sleep on my left side, i tried my hardest when i was pregnant, i just couldnt do it, i either slept on my right side or on my stomach(we have a very soft bed)well kinda half belly half side sleeping, both of my children were fine, but do whats comfortable with you and do what you feel is best, my first 1 i didnt feel it move until about 20 weeks or there abouts, but with my second it was around 15 weeks, only because i knew what to look for. and both of mine are boys and their heartrates were never over 140(sounds like  you might get your boy) however that is just a myth. but was true for both of my kids. good luck to you

SLEEP where ever your comfortable ..they do suggest the left side especially later on in your pregnancy.
Movement can be usually felt by 16 weeks and on, but that all vaires in women, sometimes to if your a little"heavier" it may take a bit more time to feel some movements

That is a good question. When I worked in a OBGYN office, one lady came in complaining of feeling dizzy. We checked her blood pressure and it was very low. The DR told her to lay on her left side only. I am a medical assistant and I was never given the reason why. All I know is that I have two girls and with each pregnancy, I slept on both sides. I would also say, however you feel comfortable unless someone can give me a medical reason why you can't sleep on your right.

It has to do with the position of your heart.  It is kind of like laying down with your feet elevated above the level of your heart.  It is so that your heart doesn't have to work as hard to get the blood and oxygen to the vital organs (especially the uterus during pg).
