A question about something i've never been more embarassed about in my entire life.

This is something i've been looking up for about a month and a half now around the time that the problem first started. Before I explain my entire situation, let me start off by stating a few things to rule out what i'm almost positive wouldn't be the problem.

I'm not experiencing ANY itching "down there", or any sort of breaking out or rash of any kind. I haven't had any kind of sex in four months. My period is about a couple weeks late. And there is no abnormal kind of vaginal discharge that I have started to have. With that being said, I have had the absolute WORST smell down there that I have never in my life experienced ever since right before I started my last period just over a month ago. I didn't worry about it because I figured perhaps it was just a funky smell right before I started. Apparently I was wrong. Even after I got off my period and as time went on, it seemed to be getting worse. Not only is this smell so bad that I can eventually start to smell it through my clothes not long after washing, but it is actually getting stronger and even more foul with time. The thing that gets me the most is, I figured perhaps it was a yeast infection. But from what i've read about a "yeast infection" it is nothing like what i'm experiencing. I've heard it will usually be a disgusting discharge with a fishy smell. This smell isn't fishy either. It began to almost start smelling like sweaty feet. And now, it's so bad that I don't even know how to explain it. It's nothing like anything i've ever smelled before. I will wash properly and daily and no matter what, the smell will somehow get stronger throughout the day even if i'm not even doing anything. It is so EMBARASSING and I feel so disgusting. But I don't know what to do about it because it's not like i'm not taking care of myself down there. I haven't been doing anything out of the ordinary in my life. My hygiene is the same, and I haven't been tampering with anything that I wouldn't normally do.

In addition, sadly the only other best way I can think of to describe this smell is that of a dead animal. I just don't understand. This has NEVER happened to me before and from what i've researched, I can't find anything else like it either.

Look up BV, it sounds like what you have, and it should be treated with antibiotics.

you should just go to the doctor. thats why we have them, they can tell you what it is for sure (:
