A wierd vaginal discharge

by Candy591, Oct 22, 2009 06:29AM
Hi there, I have been experiencing a discharge for quite a long time now, so long that I cant even remember how long for! I have been treated a few times for thrush using cream and pessaries, this has been tried about 2 times. I am still experiencing it and the smell changes! For example when Im sexually aroused there is a really strong smell of garlic which is really off putting for both me and my partner. But it can also smell like amonia which I know is associated with Bacterial Vaginosis and other times it can have a fishy smell. I have been on Depo Provera (contraceptive jag) for 2 years now and I am confused to whether this might be causing me this problem. I desperately need help because its making me self conscious and I dont find sex enjoyable any more as I am embarressed. I have also noticed that these smells dont differ with the food that I eat, I have already examined this. Im scared to say to my doctor as I feel I am constantly there with problems with my vagina and feel a pest.

Please HELP, thanks x

You may not think it right now but a lot of women go through stages of vaginal discharge and it can last years as your body changes.
Ive been seeing my doctor about it for four years and he told me that it is normal and is a sign of your body changing. I really would advise going to see a doctor about it, it is scary when something is happening down there and the doctor will understand that. I work in a doctors surgery and believe me, there is nothing they havent heard before.
They will most likely have to take a swab from you but it is just a few moments of discomfort to ease your mind about what is happening.
Hope this has helped :-)
