AF dark brown after first round of clomid

Hello doctor, we are ttc for about an year and after my obgyn found out that I have short luteal phase, he put me on clomid. First round corrected my ovulation but when I had my AF it was as short as one and a half days. It started in the evening, with lots of dark brown clots, red blood and brown clots in the night and next day morning and by second evening just brown spotting. I went to my doctor and blood test came negative for pregnancy. Is it common to experience such an AF during clomid?
