Abdominal Pain/cramping only at night

So for the past few months I have been experiencing once a month very bad cramping that's abdominal. Literally doesn't feel like period cramping, more like im being stabbed. It lasts for minutes at a time. Only happens when im asleep and wakes me up because it hurts so bad and like I said lasts a few min. I go straight to the restroom thinking I just need to use the rr but no, nothing. Ill have to hug my stomach and just go into a ball. Ill lay back down but the pain will rush in. Causing me to stay up till I think its okay to go back to bed. Once im asleep again itll all happen again about 4 x that night its occurring. Ive already had my period, I didn't have sex that night, I don't know whats causing this. Anyone know what it could be? if you need more info let me know.
