Abnormal PAP with no dysplasia?

In 2000, I had a colposcopy. I had moderate dysplasia, and it was treated with cryosurgery. In 2007, six weeks after my last baby, I again had an abnormal PAP. I had another colposcopy, and it was fine. I was told to return for a follow-up, but I never made it. In May of this year, I had yet another abnormal PAP. I had a colposcopy today, and the Dr said that aside from a very small area, my cervix looked fine. He took two samples for a biopsy, and said that once those results came back, he wants to use the laser to treat whatever dysplasia is there, just to be safe. Apparently, he is wondering what could be causing the abnormal PAP, if not cervical dysplasia. My question is whether or not something else could be causing it, and if so, what, and will this continue? FWIW, I just turned 40, I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and I've had three children.
