Abnormal bleeding/bloating/fatigue 8 yrs post hysterectomy

As a 48 yr old female who is 8 yrs post partial hysterectomy, I have had pain and mild bleeding with intercourse intermittently over the past year.  However, over the past 3 weeks, the bleeding started without any sexual contact at all.  My pelvis is swollen and I am tired. Pelvic exam and pap of vaginal walls revealed vaginal dysplasia that will be surgically biopsied in 2 weeks.  Ovarian cancer screening has been unremarkable. Platelets are low.  What could be the cause?
