Abormal pap tests

Hello, Im not sure where to post this so I just do it here.. Everytime I get a pap test done, I always have to go back becuz the results are abnormal and I have to get a colopscy ( is that how u spell it) done. Everytime that procedure is done, I always get called back from the dr saying everything is normal. Is anyone going thru this too? Im glad that everything is normal but it gets irritating having to go to the GYN every 3-6 months to get checked.

Hello I have never done this before, so I don't know where to post this.  For over a year now I have been having abnormal pap-spears and colposcopy after colposcopy done. I've even had a Leap procedure done. My last coposcopy showed two areas with mild cervical displasia, but the sample taken from the other side of my cervix (the side closest to the uterus) came back abnormal as well. My doctor wants me to see a specialist now, and I'm a little worried. On top of my results being bad my cycles for the past 2 months have been terrible. Last week I finally got off of a 21 day period, and now a week later its starting again. I'm only 26 and feel like I'm too young to be going through this.Does anyone have any insight?

I would definitley take it if I were you. It is perfectly safe and is highly recommended to begin taking once you are trying to get pregnant.

Thanks Harleygrl, I'll mentioned this to my doctor to see what she says. If I take it on my own, it wouldnt cause me any harm right? And since I plan on starting a family by next yr, the folic should be good for me right?

I also went through the same thing. I would have an abnormal pap and then had to have a colposcopy. That would come back as fine and sure enough my next pap would come back as abnormal again!!! Finally the doc told me to take a multi-vitamin with folic acid. Sure enough I have not had an abnormal pap since. The doctor tried to explain how the folic acid does somehting with the cervical lining, keeps it healthy.
