Accupunture and IVF

Hi Girls!  Just wondering if anyone has used accupunture along with IVF?  If so what kind of regimen were you on and what were the results.  My hubby and I had a failed IVF in March.  It was a positive preg.  but not viable after just a week or so...any how we are giving it a go again.  I have been told accupuncture increases success rates hugely.  But would love to talk to someone who has been through it.  Thanks to all!!!!!

Oh I am so HAPPY for you!!! I did go for a session last week and the accupunturist wants me to come back again this week. I am just confused because from what I have read the normal regimen is day before tranfer, day after or day of transfer.  I don't even start my lupron until Oct 4.  At $85.00 a session it could get really exspensive really fast!  Which it is really a drop in the bucket compaired to the overall cost.  Our insurance will not cover ANY of the procedure, meds and the urologist fee.  My hubby needs sperm asperation.  How many IVF cycle did you do prior to this preg?  I have a daughter from our very 1st and had a miscarriage after our 2nd this spring:(
But hey 3 is a charm right?  Best of Luck with your preg!!!!!!

I did it, and am now 24 weeks pg.  My M.D. recommended it.  The fertility clinic had a list of practitioners who knew the things to do to increase fertility.  Apparently there has been some credible research that shows acupuncture does increase your success rate by a noticeable amount.  I had one appointment before transfer, and then on the day of transfer I had an appointment before the transfer (accupuncturist came to the clinic to do it) and one after it.  Then I had one appointment after transfer.  The needles are tiny, and the sensation is one of a small electric charge if you feel anything at all.  It was more like a meditation than anything very active, I could have fallen asleep when the needles were in.  They put in two embryos and one made it.  Can't argue with success.
