Achiness and pressure over bladder

by jarsan, Aug 25, 2008 05:08PM
Over a month ago I started having lots of pressure and achiness in bottom of abdomen & more frequent urination.. sometimes up 4 times x night to urinate.  Had urine tested. I could not see blood in it, but the lab nurse said there was "a LOT of blood" in it. Put on antibiotics. They did not help so went back to dr. This time urine showed blood and protein, put on a different 10 day course of antibiotics. Helped a little while taking them, then same pressure and pain back. Dr thought maybe uterus was enlarged, pressing on bladder so he sent fme for a pelvic ultrasound. Uterus/ovaries normal on ultrasound report. Am now on 3rd straight round of antibiotics. Pain is less but still have a heavy, bloated feeling over my lower pelvic area.

Also want to mention, the ultrasound was excrutiating!  When I had to drink enough water and wait for my bladder to fill, it was almost unbearable and I really am not exaggerating. WHen she finally got the u/s done and let me go to the bathroom, I was crying.

Any ideas please????  I really thought the u/s would show something. The technician kept questioning me about whether uterine fibroids had ever been diagnosed in my family and explained what they were, etc. so I was completely surprised when the nurse called today and said the u/s was normal.

Thanks.
