Acne and Miscarriage

I had a miscarriage in March of this year and ever since then I have had the worst acne.  Does this have something to do with the miscarriage, maybe the hormonal balance or something?  Just curious if anyone else experienced this.  Thanks

I have had 2 miscarriages and have severe acne. I just found out that the acne may mean my testerone level is too high and that I may have PCOS which causes an increased risk of miscarriage. Right now I am avoiding dairy and sugar and trying to increase my protein intake as a way of balancing out the hormones. I may try taking Metformin as well. We will see if it works.

I had a miscarriage in 1997 and I still get breakouts from it! The doctors think i am crazy for thinking the two are related.  I never had acne before, no one in my family has had trouble with acne. It started during the pregnancy and we found out it was because i had lost the baby 4 weeks prior!  I have tried all of the soaps and facial washes, the Proactive, etc.  I have been on Differin gel and Duac for about 4 yrs. It really has helped, but i have to fight my insurance company every year because they say no one over 30 should be getting acne.  I agree!  Problem is, I can't find a dr that can help me figure out the problem and how to fix it. Can anyone help me?

I had a miscarriage in October. I had two sets of Methotrexate shots to thin the lining in my uterus. I have had acne so bad since then. Especially on my neck and face! I don't even want to go out in public because it looks so bad.

I am having the same problem. I had a d&c due to m/c 4 weeks ago. I have had a small amount of success with tea tree oil after I wash my face, but it's still pretty bad. I'm still also waiting for my af. I feel so out if touch with my body and hormones. The acne does not help. Good luck.

Thank you!  That explains it!  I've had a lot of stress too on top of the miscarriage.  I never had acne growing up and it just came on all of a sudden in the past few months.  And I have no idea how to get rid of it.  I cleanse my face daily, but nothing seems to help.  I still get a bump here and there.  Thanks for your response.

I am sorry about the m/c i had one two years ago August 3rd and i know how it can be the acne can be due to the hormone change because first your body is telling itself that you are pregnant then all of a sudden that changes and then you are all out of wack. it also could be if you are under any stress. hope all goes well
