Am I crazy?

Ok, I've been feeling pregnancy symptoms about a week and a half now, swollen breast, cramps (kinda similiar to menstration cramps, but lower), I'm more tired, my persionality has changed, ect.  I got my period yesterday, right on time.  I took a pregnancy test yesterday (while on my period) and it came back negative.  However I still feel pregnant, could I be?  My husband and I are trying.  Could I still be preg or is it all in my head?

The pregnancy test detects HCG, the hormone your body secretes when you are pregnant.  I don't see how being on your period would affect the test.  You either have the hormone or not.  It all depends on the concentration of the hormone in your urine.  A blood test works earlier on in the pregnancy b/c it picks up the HCG in the blood, vs. a home urine pregnancy test.  The instructions suggest to use the test after your missed period to let the concentration of HCG build up high enough to detect, not b/c the blood from you period would alter the results.

dont take a pregnany test while on your period....the test is lookin for a type a hormone that may or may not be detected while on your period what a week or two after your period is over and then take the test again

Thanks everyone.  We really want a baby & we are trying.  I don't know if I want it so bad I'm making myself feel preg symptoms.  I guess I have no choice but to wait & test again in a few days.  Any opinions on which hpt is best?

it i little lighter but not spotty.  It's strange, everyone says I act preg & I really feel preg.  I'm overly tired, I've been eating banana peppers with apple juice, my abs hurt, my breast are getting bigger, I feel sick (but no vomiting), and the list continues.  Is it normal?  Can a period effect the results of a hpt?

i think when we want something bad enough our body starts to beleive it, i have had this happen. i think a lot of us have.  maybe take another test in a few days (i know thats hard to wait) . is your bleeding heavy or spotting? because that could mean something too. some women bleed right at the time of menses even when they r pg. if you get another neg pg test, i would believe it. and  keep on bd for next month!  good luck.

Was your period normal?  Or lighter?  Could it possibly be implantation bleeding?  It may be too early to tell via a hpt.

Can anyone gimme an answer?  My hubby & I had sex almost everyday last month (including the time I should be ovulating).  I got my period yesterday & I took a hpt & it said negative.  I feel preg; sick, hungry, tired, sore breast, funky nipples, mood changes, sick to certain smells.  I already know you can have periods and still be preg, but can your period effect the results of a preg test?  SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP

yeah I'm confused.  I keep havng dreams I am & I feel like I am.  I know women can have their period while they are pregnant but I don't know about taking a hpt while on my period.  Our insurance just recently got canceled, so I don't know if I should wait and test again in a week or so????
