Am I having side effects or a real problem help please??!!

I took plan B about 7 hours after having an accident, then about 8 days later I started my period on time when it usually starts, it looked pretty normal but when I normally end about 6 days later I got brownish discharge and now it seems like a normal  period again?? Is this from the pill it has been 17 days since I have taken it.  I have been on this "period" for 9 days?

Plan B (and other emergency contraceptives) can do that to your cycle. It sounds normal to me. In fact, I took Next Choice last month since I was a bit late taking my pill (I'm on a POP/mini-pill) and my period was similar, with the following brown discharge period-like business. It's lightened up since I'm about to start my period any day, but spotting and some bleeding is normal.

Part of the way it works is by thinning the uterine lining (endometrium) a bit, which is what causes the spotting and "bleeding"/brown discharge. The main way it works is by preventing ovulation, though.

I highly doubt you are pregnant, but I'd probably pick up an early result home pregnancy test and you should be okay to test now possibly, but I'd hold out until closer to your expected period. You can also go to a Planned Parenthood or other local clinic that provides reproductive health services.

Have you considered a birth control method that's long-term, highly effective, something you don't have to think about daily, and obviously, reversible? Implanon, an IUD (Mirena and Paragard) or something? I had a Paragard (I had it removed to have the Essure sterilization procedure - I'm in the 3 month or so window of having to be on birth control right now) and loved it. I just mention that so you can avoid the need for EC and worries. :)

Using any sort of birth control, including emergency contraceptives, can have an effect on your cycle. Everybody reacts differently. If you're worried call you obgyn in the morning and ask to speak to a nurse. Did you read the info that came with the plan b? It will explain side effects. Any time you put your body through an unnatural experience there are bound to be side effects.
