While you're not supposed to post here if you are under 18, you really do need to see a doctor, but most of all you don't need to be worried about getting a checkup. You could have mild asthma which would require you to get an inhaler for when you are winded. The other possibility is that your anxiety is causing you panic attacks which makes it feel like you are having a heart attack!

Either way - you need to be looked at and the tests required aren't going to be scary or painful. The good news is, if you see your doctor, you can get help so you don't have to worry anymore.

They're not going to tell you you're dying :) but don't suffer anymore...

I agree with Mrs. Canada's advice...no harm in getting checked out.  Is there a reason why you can't tell your parents?  You mentioned that you've been dealing with this for 10 yrs.  That's a pretty long time to suffer from this and you haven't once felt the need to tell your parents, a school nurse, or someone?  Well, the good news is, is that if this really has been going on for 10 yrs...it doesn't sound like it's anything too serious, or you would have had major problems by now.  Get a check up to be on the safe side...if you feel you can't tell your folks...is there another relative or someone that you would feel comfortable talking to.

good luck

How old were you when this first happened? Its just you said its been going on for ten yrs...when it happens are you doing anything i.e. exercise or very emotional(angry, crying, very happy) ? Is there a reason you can't tell someone? what is making you scared?

I found out when I was 7 I had asthma and I too was scared to tell my mum what was happening so I told my nanna, she took me to the Docs and after told my mum. I am so glad I did as mum really looked after me and the doc gave me something to stop the problems .
