Am I pregnant? Please help!!!

I really need some advice so lets begin:

I always carry on a pack of pills so I dont have a period and it was about 4months since my last one so I decided it was time I had one I had missed a few pills where I had been on holiday but i assumed it would be ok since Ive been on the pill constantly for 4months.

So I came off my pill on the sunday night (25th sept) but I had sex the friday and that day

Then my period eventually came for that week and I took the first pill again on the following Sunday (Sunday just gone 2nd Oct) but from this Monday until today (6th Oct) I haven't taken it again and I had sex yesterday, but Im bleeding a bit and what feels like a period is this because I took that one pill on the Sunday? An because I didnt carry on its made a period come?

Could I be pregnant at all?

I would really appreciate some advice I just don't like going to doctors because I have a little phobia of them

Thank you

Hi clysta, thank you for replying I am now a bit concerned because when I went back on my pill after my weeks break I only took it that one night and haven't since however I'm on my period again obviously where I've missed it my body thinks aa periods due but I only took that one pill why has it caused a period?? Surely that means I'm not pregnant? But because I've only has intercourse recently can I still be pregnant? My partner and I both always thought we could never have children so if I am pregnant it'll be a suprise :) x

The pill is only effective while you take it, so even if you took it for a year straight and then miss one you have no protection-- even taking them perfectly you still have a chance of failure.

In short, yes you can become pregnant. You need to wait 2 weeks after you last had sex and take a pregnancy test with first morning urine. You will also have to try and overcome your phobia of doctors, because if you ARE pregnant you're going to be seeing them quite frequently. Unless you're trying to conceive as well, you need to use protection at ALL TIMES.
