Just took a hpt, both were negative. I am relieved!
Will do. I will update you what happens, thank you so much. I appreciate it.
Read the label/package instructions, or ask a pharmacist/doctor. I think it would be accurate, but by this point, you can just go for whatever's cheapest since you don't need the extra-early detection feature.
And please consider some form of birth control to avoid any future scares.
I am thinking of taking First Response. Is it still accurate even if it has been 6-7 weeks since the semen came in touch with my vulva?
Thank you so much for your help! When is the best time to take a hpt? What is the most reliable one?
Theoretically, but if I were in your shoes, I would not be worrying one bit this time. I think usually you would not get your period if you ovulated--> had sex-->got pregnant before your period should come, but I'm not 100% sure of that. You can always ask your doctor if you're worried, or take a home pregnancy test. It's been long enough that one would be accurate by now. But I honestly think it would be a waste of money in this case. I'm not a doctor, so I can't diagnose you, but that's my honest opinion.
The bloating and pimples could be because you're about to get your period. I don't get those (well, I used to break out before my period, but I don't on birth control), but they can certainly happen to some women.
Thanks. So if I had my period 7 days after the 'activity' does that mean i cant get pregnant?
It IS possible to get pregnant from pre-ejaculate, but it's not terribly likely (4% failure per year if the withdrawal method is used perfectly every time).
@OP: That being said, I think I would be calling the newspapers if you were pregnant. Sperm can't crawl its way in from outside; they need to swim, and they don't like air very much. I think you might be experiencing these symptoms just from being so stressed out. You should consider going on birth control, both to regulate your irregular periods and to give you peace of mind in the future.
To answer another one of your questions, you can get pregnant at any time in your cycle, including when you're on your period. Some women (extremely rarely) can even get their period while they're pregnant, but it's a bit shorter/lighter than it should be. And yes, you can get pregnant with an irregular period. If you've ovulated, you can get pregnant, so if you have unprotected sex during that window, you could get pregnant.
From what I remember, it took 3 or 4 years for my period to become regular, but soon after that I started on birth control, and have been on it ever since.
You're fine honey. In order for you to be pregnant, he has to ejaculate IN you which means penetration.
I very much doubt that your pregnant but i would go and see a doctor about your irregular periods as it could be why your getting these symptoms =)
