Am I really pregnant?

A few weeks back I started developing the symptoms of early pregnancy, but then I came on my period and put it down to that. A few days after my period stopped, all the symptons were still there so I thought I'd take a pregnancy test to make sure. It read positive (and so did the four I took after just to be certain!) My partner and I worked back and pinpointed the date to about 6 weeks ago. I went to the doctor this morning and she said that due to the 5 positive pregnancy tests she had no doubt in her mind that I was. However, she then said that I couldn't be more than a few weeks because it was so tiny when she did the vaginal ultrasound that she couldn't see it exactly. The period I had just before taking the tests was quite light but I did have a very heavy one several weks before that and I'm unsure as to whether I actually I actually miscarried duing this time without realising. I'm wondering if I did, if the hormones would still be present to confuse the test. I'm so confused and unsure what to think.
