My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for about 6 months now. But I'm concerned about the medications I'm currently taking affecting when I get pregnant. I've been prescribed AlprazolamAlprazolam Alprazolam er (Xanax) for several years now. I take about 3-4mg at night because I wont fall asleep if I don't. Unaware of the intense withdrawal symptoms of Xanax I stopped taking it for about 3 days. After having HORRIFYING withdrawals I decided I wanted my doctor to get me off the Xanax completely. My doctor prescribed me Clonazepam (KlonopinKlonopin Klonopin wafer) to help me get ween off the Xanax but also give me something to help with my sleep.
Here's my question, it is a very good chance I'm pregnant now (if not I'm sure it wont be long before I am) what should I do in terms of stopping these medications while I'm pregnant?? I'm getting conflicting answers from reading online about the effects of Xanax and KlonopinKlonopin Klonopin wafer on the baby during pregnancy. I'm SCARED TO DEATHDiscussing death with children Gangrene Liver cell death Loss of a child - resources Sudden infant death syndrome of the Xanax withdrawals but it would take a LONG time to ween me off it because I take such a high dose. And I'm reading thing online that say that KlonopinKlonopin Klonopin wafer is very dangerous to the baby if I take it while I'm pregnant.
What should I do?!?!?
