Any Medication to delay period?

I am going on vacation in a few weeks and am due to get my period. Is there anything I can take to delay my period (I do not want to go on birth control). Is norethisterone common in the U.S? If so, how would I go about getting it.

Unfortunately, the only medical way I know of is to get on birth control to do this under doctor's direction (in other words, to ensure it's alright in your situation).  Norethisterone is a single-hormone birth control pill from what I'm reading, but every site I see lists "US equivalents," so I'm thinking it's not very common by that name but something similar is obtainable.

Just make sure it's not going to be super expensive for you to get it while over here.  Our pharmaceuticals are a bit nuts when it comes to prices.  (For instance, Walmart tried to charge me $100-something for a small tube of cream to treat potential scabies.  My insurance reduced it significantly, but if you don't have insurance over here, your Norethisterone equivalent may be pretty expensive.)
