Yes, they are common. I had one and they put me on bc pills to make it go away. It did. Sometimes they can give you medicine to disolve it. If really large, they may have to remove it surgically. Hopefully yours is just a common one that will go away with treatment.
Don't worry they are very common. I have them on both my overies. I've had a 7 by 7 inch cyst removed out of my right overy. VERY painful surgery. Just be careful which birth control pills you take if you do take any. Cause with a cyst your hormones can get all mixed up.

Can you tell me more about your surgery I found out I have a 5x7 inch cyst and decided to wait a month to see if it goes down. What can you tell me about recovery... the scar etc.. Also what was your cyst made of ? My doctor told me he wouldn't know until it was removed. Do you wish you would have waited to see if it would go down?
And don't forget!!!!99% of ovarian cysts are benign!
