Tequilla... Oh,yeah my kind of drink...If that doesn't put us out..lol..Heck yeah it is cold I live by the mountains(Big bear). And their starting to snow. Not were I'm at but it still gets nippy.
I guess it is my tmj. It is really cloudy here and supposed to start raining tomorrow. People think I am crazy, but I swear the colder or rainier it is, the more painful it is. It is 11:23 here.
I know it's a no-no, but I'm doing it anyway. I took my med with Coke and Jim Beam, I am now sitting here finishing my drink. Sometimes even us moms do things we know we're not supposed to do, don't we? Or am I the only one?
Oh,yes you r not crazy.Cold weather sucks.I'm only 29 but when it gets cold my bones hurt,my head & if I'm cramping from AF..ouch..Sorry about your pain.
Thanks. I'm sorta kinda hopefully learning to live with it. It's just one of those things, you know. It's just such a b**ch waiting for the meds to start working, ya know? It helps to get on here though, kinda takes my mind off of it until they do kick in.
For the record, I'm glad to see you back. I didn't think you should've ever been made to feel like you needed to leave just because you spoke your mind. Heck everybody else does, I don't notice anybody else leaving. At least whenever anyone talks to you they always know where they stand.haha
if you aren't already juiced to the gills, try warm jim beam. like a hot toddy? it's helped me a few times. i'd forgotten all about it. i'd better run out to rite aid right away and buy some :)
although, the first time i tried it, i hadn't slept well in weeks due to a really bad cold and cough. my dd was in kindergarden at the time. while she was at school, i nuked a glass of whiskey and pretty much passed out. i woke up 30 minutes after i was due to pick her up, and had to stumble into the principal's office to pick her up. i probably smelled of whiskey! i was so embarrassed. i got her out of there as fast as i could :(
Hi PGB, sorry, don't have much advice for you...maybe drink some warm milk? I have been having sleeping issues too, but I know why and hopefully it won't last too long.
I know there are some kind of non adictive sleeping pills out there. Maybe go to your Dr if it get bad enough?
Tell me about it. My husband's grandmother is of course against any drinking of beer and such. My 7 year old proceeded to tell her this past summer when she called and he answered the phone that mamma and daddy were outside watching them work their horses in the round pin and drinking beer. Why did he have to add that on? I wouldn't even take the phone I made my husband take it and talk to her. I was so embarassed!!
I have tmj and the inflamation (inflammation) has made a big knot under my ear. The knot is pinching a nerve and it causes some pretty severe pain. The knot goes down some and the pain gets better, then the next thing I know the darn thing is huge again and so is the pain. Maybe you will be feeling better soon. I hope so anyway.
7 yr.olds their a hand full.My dd (7) saw me drinking at thanks giving & started balling she said her teacher told her that people that drink die faster...lol..Poor thing she prob. swore I was just going to drop right their & then..haha
I havent drank since then, but hey what they dont see wont hurt them..hehe..
Ouch, that sucks. I have heard of TMJ but never had it. What are the Dr.s doing for you to help? Or is that why you are going to the Dr. tomorrow? I can see why that is keeping you awake. Pain also keeps me awake. You said that you are 6 weeks prego?
my friend's daughter used to give her such a hard time whenever she saw her drinking a glass of wine - which was every night. the kids are given such a black/white view of things now. even one glass of wine is considered drug abuse to them! i don't really drink at home so thank goodness it was never an issue here.
but, whenever we go out and i order a drink, she always asks if i'm going to get drunk! she's never even seen me drunk! where do they get this stuff?? (kindergarden doesn't count: i was totally sober when i picked her up. i just couldn't wake up lol)
Sorry, just went back and read and it didn't say anything about you being pregnant. i'm tired and must have mixed you up with somebody else.(blush) I wish I could sleep too. I havn't had a good nights sleep in a month. If you find something that helps then let me know.
No. Lord, no. I already have my hands full with 3 kids. Don't PLAN to have any more.
TMJ is very painful. I have mouth guard to wear at night and other than that, just meds. The cymbalta is one of them. Like I said earlier in your other thread, I just have good days/nights and bad ones.
And my 7 year old is a holy terror!! I babied him to death!! Now I can't do anything with him and neither can anyone else. Except daddy. All he has to do is give him "the look."
Again I read wrong, I thought you said you were going to the Dr. tomorrow. Maaannnn I'm really losing it tonight!!
What are the Dr.s doing to help you with the tmj?
Well, my drink is gone and the pain is down to a dull throb for now so I think that it is time to try to sleep again. 5:30 will be here before I know it. You know, us stay at home moms with nothing to do like to get up early and start doing nothing before the sun comes up. It's a lot of fun. I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it.
Good night all. Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep tonight!
Didn't see your post until I had already said good night! Sorry.
It actually is supposed to help, I think. But so far it's just keeping mine from getting any worse than it was before I got it. But, between it and the change in meds and increasing some of my meds, I actually have been doing better. I was hurting so bad that I couldn't do anything but pace the floor or go outside and pace up and down the drive. It hasn't been that bad in a while.(knocking on wood!)
Yayy... to all the SAHM!!!It sounds funner(sp?) than it really is.I also get up at 6 to take ds to school at 7 then take dd at 8 come home clean eat breakfast & then come chat with you'all. That is until 2&3 pick up kids a then the house is a mad house.SAHM r nuses, secrit, taxi, messengers, maids & most important Lovers...hehe..j/k,just checking if everyone still awake?
I am doling out M&M's again and fresh cinnamon rolls. FDH bought a huge thing of Cinnabon's...ugh. I love them. I've got Gevalia coffee brewing too. I know it's noon here, but it goes well with the rolls.
Okay, this may not help you ladies to go to sleep, but I do find that it allows for relaxation even if it sounds a bit hokey?
So you have a bath/shower, make the bed as comfy as possible with pillows and such. Lights out, eyes closed, then picture yourself sort of hugging a cloud that is suspended over a smooth cool dessert. The sand is endless and flawless in all directions. Now let the cloud begin to move slowly over the sands picturing your bare toes and feet lightly sweeping across the surface of the cool, soft sand.
If you try, you can actually feel it between your toes and it is REALLY relaxing.
I know, I know it's hokey or wierd, but it is something I have been doing since I was 15 years old. Insomnia is my middle name, but this little exercise at least gives me a sense of being relaxed.

I need something to pick my butt up. I'm glad we swapped email addresses already. I have a feeling med help is about to become something that we will not want to be a part of. I wish that who could come back. I miss her.
I have seen some posts from cletus in the past couple of days, but haven't talked to her, have you? Wonder how she's feeling. If she ever managed to see a doctor.
I feel pretty blue today myself. Must be because I had such a bad night last night. Maybe I'll do better tonight. Hope so anyway.
When are you going to doc? What meds are you going to ask for to help you sleep? Be sure to let me know what they are if they help.
What about the cholesterol lowering diet? Don't forget to send that info to me. May as well get started on that soon. Boy do I dread that! But I need to get it down some before I go back and have my blood rechecked.
Anyway, guess I better go for a little while. It's soon going to be time for the kiddies to be here and I need to get them a snack together. I'll check back in with you later.
when you have problems with your tmj, its the name of the joint, you can have incredible pain. if you are grinding your teeth and clenching you can chip and break your teeth as well. ibuprofen (only if you are ok to take it and not with a cocktail :) will help since it is an anti inflamatory. a nightguard if made from a dentist and fits well can help incredibly. however after time and nightly grinding it does need adjustments so that you keep it feeling comfortable. apparently the stress is taking over. you need to start walking every day. it releases something in the brain that helps with stress and depression. alcohol, even though it seems like it would work, can actually create more insomnia. id start the walking, eating healthy, taking a daily vitimen, get into a yoga or listen to a meditation cd, but if you feel that overwhelmed id consider having some therapy. sometimes daily stresses can build to a point that needs a little work. good luck to you and your mission to find sleep!!
Yeah, my FDH is trying to fatten me up I think. I really don't need assistance in that department....LOL Yep, Cinnabon today, a dozen of 'em! Yikes. Oh well, atleast I don't have to cook dinner...LOL
If you mean how to get to sleep tonite tho, a nice glass of warm milk or decaf tea, then get into bed, and force yourself to keep your mind completely blank. Don't allow yourself to think about anything.. and you should drift off.
In the future - I swear by Melatonin to help me sleep - 30 mins before I go to bed and I go out like a light..
