Areolar hair

by Nassy, Jul 22, 2005 12:00AM
How common is hair around the nipple? I have never spoken of it to anyone.  It isn't too bad, but it's definitely there.  What methods are most common to remove it - anyone!?

i really havent heard of hairs around the nipple but i would imagine a temporary measure such as waxing, tweezing,(painful though) or that hair removal lotion like nair? read the bottle first. i have heard both good and bad things about that product.

I had to get electrolisis. It took about 1 sessions a week for about 8 months. Waxing, tweezing, shaving will only make the hair grow more and thicker.

I have that too. I just tweeze the thick hairs and leave the little ones alone.

I have it too and tweeze them. HAs anyone gotten red marks where the hairs are growing back? Maybe it's from the bra and sweat and irritation?

I occasionally (once a month)get a single hair growing around that area, and I generally tweeze it. If the place you pluck it from tends to become irritated, clean it, put some antiseptic (neosporin) and cover it with a bandaid. Obviously if you're having to have electrolosis, the problem is much bigger than just 1 hair every month, but maybe applying some sort of antibiotic ointment will help it keep from becoming infected.  When I shave in the bikini area, I often will finish with a layer of antibiotic ointment since the area doesn't often get a chance to breathe.
