Everytime I start my period I am extremely ill, I am sick at least 6 times and I find myself being unable to eat for a long time. Also I am in TERRIBLE pain, my stomach will burning and curning around, stabbing, heavy and I feel incredibly weak! I can barely heave my body up and the amout of weight I have lost is just unbelievable, I've always been a average, good, ideal size (which I have been very proud of from my curves and my boyfriend loves my body) but now I have lost so much, i'm scared that I am under weight!
I am very worried about this and I have consulted a nurse before but only gave the option of going on 'the pill' - This would be good for my relationship and period but I am slightly worried about the effects, I heard it lowers the chances of a cancer and I thought great! Then heard it hightens a number of other cancers and got worried. Is this anything to worry about? Are the effects very slight and do not matter or are they something to consider (since I have a bad record of health!)
Thank you for reading this! Any comment is appriecated, thank you for taking your time for this and please give any option - of what might help my period less painfulPainful menstrual periods - whether the pill is a good option - is there any way to get a lighter period (My periods are very heavy and frequent, I have to change my tampon/towel very often, even more than once in an hour on extremely bad days)
I would suggest you go and see a gynaecologist. There may be a medical reason for your menorrhagia (heavy periods). It could be related to hormones or it could be a blood clotting thing. You may also have fibroidsFibroid tumors Uterine fibroids. It may be related to cancer or a genetic disease. But there are many, many reasons that can cause heavy bleeding.
But it's had a large impact on your life. You shouldn't be as sick as you are getting and the weight loss is a concern.
Going on the pill may fix it and the reality is that you can't function the way you are so a hormonal contraceptive may be something that seriously needs to be considered.
Thank you very much!
I will try to get it sorted out, I will see someone as soon as I can.
I hope it isn't anything related to cancer or something
But thank you!

Get a gynaecologist and discuss it with her/him.
