BC; light bleeding 2 wks before period

I started birth control six months ago and I have never had a single issue. Over a week ago, I found one of my pills on the floor in my bedroom after I changed. I figured somehow the pill stuck to my fingers and fell so I went ahead and took it. Now, I started bleeding, very, very light lasting only a couple hours, two weeks before breakthrough bleeding. Has anyone have any ideas why this occured??? I have missed pills before and took it the next day when I remembered and never had bleeding occur. Thanks for any insight.

I also want to ask, if the pill I found had been a pill from later that week essentially, I would be essentially unprotected when having sex, correct? I just don't understand any other reason why I would have bled for a couple hours two weeks before breakthrough bleeding. So I am worried about a) if I did take the pill late or if the pill itself isn't a stong enough dosage or b) if I did take the pill late, that I could possibly be pregnant.
