I'm just pasting my response to an earlier post today, since I think it's the same issue...
Take your pills as prescribed, regardless of bleeding.
I've seen a number of somewhat related posts on here, and I'm mystified. You HAVE TO TAKE THE PILLS CONTINUOUSLY or you might as well not take them at all. Your period/bleeding/whatever doesn't matter. The only time you can skip pills is if you don't feel like taking the placebos (but wait the seven days before starting your new pack!) or skip that week altogether and immediately start a new pack in order to skip your period that month. That's the only time you can alter the pills without compromising your protection.
What I meant by that was say you don't start your period until your 4th day on the placebos and your period normally goes for 5 days. Well you will still be on your period when it is time to start a new pack. So I meant to stay even if your on your period you still start a new pack. always stay on schedule.
"Even if you start your period during placebo week and don't end it yet you start the new pack as planned. Does this make sense?" sorry, I dont really understand clearly what you meant by that. Please xpln if its ok.
Ty so much! :)
If you are going to have your period then you take the placebo pills which really have nothing in them they are just there to remind you and keep you on schedule with taking your pills. If you want to skip your period then you would go straight into a new pack and skip the placebo pills. Always keep on schedule with your pills doing one of the two things I noted above. Even if you start your period during placebo week and don't end it yet you start the new pack as planned. Does this make sense?
