BV -Vaginal Health

I have bacterial vaginosis (bacterial infection in vagina) .Doctors usually prescribe
Metronidazole (an Antibiotic), I made an appt with my gyn, and she cant see me for another 2 weeks, so in the meantime, could i take Cephalexian (Keflex) another antibiotic.......it was prescribed to me before for a sinus infection.....i mean dont all antiiotics work the same? some are just stronger than others?

Never take an antibotic for something other that it was prescribed.  That is one of the main reasons certain infections are becoming immune to antibiotics.  I have had chronic BV infections for years and I have finally found something that has helped.  You need to do/take the following:  Take a Probiotic (Acidphodilus) every day preferably one with at least 8 million live cultures, Use Glycerin soap in that area if you use soap at all in that area, Use condoms during sex (sperm can really mess up your ph and the bacteria in there), also if you are currently on BCP or the patch you can take Folic Acid (800 mg) a day and also take B6 Vitamins!  It may seem like a lot but trust me these things work.  Also never ****** with anything!!!!

well no not all antibotic work the same a antibotic for a sinus infection works on uti and upper respiratory infections but not bv. metronidazole(flagy), metro-gel or clidamiaxin work for bv. but to help with the sx until then dont use any feminie hyg. prod. use dial antibacterial soap. and eat yogurt  twice a daybut on the day before and day of your you exam dont use the dial it can wash awya the bacteria. and take warm showers not baths and dont sleep with any underwear on the vagina needs to breathe.
i am a certified medical assistant as well

There are different antibiotics to treat different infections. Keflex won't cure your BV. Won't your doctor call some flagyl (metronidazole) to your pharmacy?
