BV Odor..gross

I have been on the websites, and by a fluke looked up discharge, and odor, i'm 100% I have BV. I was even treated for it about a year ago,(doctor didn't really explain, just gave me a prescription for this cream) but had it for about 2 years before that. I always thought it was disgusting, and thought I was alone, now I see it is common. My husband and I didn't know what the heck my problem was. The smell is AWFUL!!(during sex after, even cooking dinner, I can smell it) Sometimes,( I am embarrassed to say) I use a tampon when I am going to be around people, so they can't smell it.  I am sooo happy that I NOW know what is going on, I'm gonna make an appt right away. Why does it return?  Does my husband need to get treated? I read that it is'nt passed on, but after I got treated, I would make him pull out for a couple of weeks and It didn't come back.  I really loved smelling normal!then when he stopped pulling out, it came back again.

They say its not a sexually transmitted disease but I dont believe that for a second. My boyfriend and I were apart for a while due to travel and when he came back the 1st time I was with him, the next day I smelled bad for the 1st time in my life! Later found out he cheated on me. I was faithful. Its very obvious BV is transmitted so I would call this an STD!!!! It doesnt take rocket scientists to figure this one out!

When I had gardnerella (I think this is the older name for BV) they DID treat my husband as well as me.  And it was with oral antibiotics.  I would not settle for a cream, it just can be too serious and if the cream does not do the trick, where are you?  Yes, it is a bacterial problem not an official "STD" like syphillis or something, but it apparently can be passed back and forth between partners.  (Which is why they put my dh on the antibiotics as well as me.)  Do go and get treatment because it can cause more serious problems that can affect fertility if left alone.  Good luck!!
