Bad mood swings!!

Can any of you ladies tell me if you have experienced bad mood swings while you were/are pregnant?

Im 5.5 months pregnant and for the last two weeks ive been really horrible to everyone i love.  I say things i don't mean and i know at the time that what im saying is stupid but i can't seem to stop.  I'm getting easily irritated by things that wouldn't normally bother me and i'm swearing all the time which isn't like me either.

Last night i had a huge arguement with my brother, i felt like when we were kids and used to argue.  I didn't think that i'd get the mood swings now, i had them for the first three months but not this bad and they seemed to go away.  I don't feel like myself, i'm normally a cheerful, smiley person, not bitter and angry!

Has this happened to any of you? I need someone to tell me i'm not going crazy :)

Thanks everyone so much for all your comments, im so glad im not alone with this, I really did think i was going nuts!  My poor husband and family, they really are lovely for putting up with me.

Its funny, this morning i was in the middle of writing a reply to all of you and i was going to say how i felt a lot better today and not so irrational, then i had the worst arguement ever with my husband and behaved like a psycho!! lol!!

YES...I feel the same way. I am 9 weeks and boy, my feelings about everyone have seemed to change. I hate it and even though I know sometimes I'm being moody and difficult I can't seem to stop myself! It's good to know I'm not the only one. It's so frustrating also, when people just chalk it up to hormones and therefore don't take you seriously. I've been there, too. When I wasn't pregnant in the past but knew a pregnant woman who would flip out or get moody I would just say she's pregnant-being hormonal. I think everyone just knows not to **** of a pregnant woman!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! This is so incredibly normal sweetheart. I am only 5 weeks and I have been feeling very irritable and frustrated lately. It will go away eventually. It's just hormones. You are very sensitive when you are pregnant. I cry alot, I laugh a lot, it's a bit of everything!! good luck!!

Yes - not to worry - the worst thing for me was that I KNEW I was being awful and unreasonable mid-rage, but absolutely could not stop myself. So as soon as I was finished ranting, i would apologise and take it all back and collapse in a heap of tears.

As I later learned, most observers realise why you're flipping out and find the entire thing entirely entertaining (which is not what you want to hear, lol) so don't be too hard on yourself and be sure to apologise to those whose heads you rip off! ;o)
