My boyfriend thinks that my SVT (which has only happened once but was 235 bpm!) was possibly caused by a variety of events that happened. I got into a bad car accident (not really injured bad but car totaled), I stopped taking birth control 3 week prior (loestrin 24), took a flu shot for the first time in my life and was under a lot of stress at work that week (24/7 on call). Is it possible that the SVT that my doctors think this is was simply an elevated heart rate due to my thyroid acting up? Has anyone ever had similar events from stopping birth control? or taking a flu shot? I am scheduled for an ablation to fix my SVT later this month.
