Bleeding on Birth Control ?

Ive been on the Nuva ring for almost a year now - i get my periods every month right on cue...and Ive never had a problem with it yet.
Today we went fishing i sat in a chair, made lunch for my family, and watched my daughter play in the lake. But when i got home i went to the bathroom and saw blood in my underwear - then coming from me - then on the tissue- only a little bit but enough to notice. i took my last Nuva ring out on May 11th and put my Nuva ring back in 7 days later (may 18th) .... my next period isn't due for another 2/3 weeks at least ? What could this bleeding be? its never happened before? this happened to anyone?
