Blood in nipples

The other day I noticed there were black specs in my nipples (not on the areola).  I was a little freaked out.  At first I thought they were fibers from my bra.  Well, I decided to squeeze them to see if they came out.  When I did this, it looked like it had been dried blood.  There were about five specs in each nipple.  Has anyone had this before?  The only thing I could come up with was that my partner got a little rough and was biting them kinda hard, so maybe that caused it?  After I squeezed them all out, they never came back.  Any input is appreciated!!

I have the same problem. When i was 17 i had them pierced and when i married my husband at 18 and had my first son i took out my nipple rings and now the right one once in awhile will bleed out the holes from the rings, i have not put rings in for about 3 years. just wondering if its from where they were pierced and maybe just scar tissue or if i should really go and have it checked out.

I had these and it freaked me out......until I realized that I was pregnant. Doc said they were little sacs that were getting ready for my colostrum.

hi,
i am new this Community and i just bumped into this as i was googleing out a solution for the problem i faced.
I am a newly wed young man. age is 25 and my wife age is 23.
When i was having intercourse with my wife i happened to suck her nipple hard, suddenly i tasted a blood on my tongue, from her side she said that she has is felt any pain. when i checked the nipple there were no signs of blood. so is this natural ? or do i need to take this seriously.

I discovered this exact same problem today when I was getting into the shower.  I noticed a bunch of tiny black specs that resembled dark, maroonish blood when squeezed out, and all were on the sides of the nipples, nothing on the areolas.  I hooked up with a guy over the weekend and he was being really rough with me, so I'm thinking he probably just popped a few blood vessels.  But, naturally, I'm a little concerned.  The problem is I don't have health insurance right now so I can't just go see a doctor.  If anyone can confirm whether or not it's anything to worry about, I'd really appreciate it!

I was wondering what the doctor's analysis was about that bleeding because i've had the bloody nipple problem as well. I was just seeing what the update was or what it could possibly be, because im not sure if i should go to the doctor or not. And like you pumpkin this was after my sexual partner might have gotten a little rough with my breasts as well.

Hi Pumpkin, I'm currently experiencing the same issue. I know I'm not pregnant as it has been a trying time for me and my husband. I noticed a few weeks ago a spot of blood in my left bra cup, but didn't think it was blood when I first saw it, and kind of dismissed the fact it was there until just this past Saturday while getting undressed and notice the same spot in the same side of my bra. I placed the bra back over my left nipple and decided it must have come from my breast. I exammed my left breast for scars and didn't see anything. I was still puzzled and once in the bathtub decided to squeeze my nipple and watched the blood appear. I'm scheduled to see my doctor in a few weeks so I haven't called to inquire at this point. I just want to know if you've gotten any resolution to your problem? Any information will help me until my doctors visit.

I happened to be searching for information on blood spot on nipples and came across this forum.
Pumpkin78 describes exactly what I have had happen.  Little black spots on the nipple, not the top, but the sides of it, and not on the areola.  I also couldn't help myself but squeeze at them and they were definately not blackheads, but resembled dried blood.
I had it happen several months ago, about 6 spots on right nipple.
Now had it happen again this morning, about 10 spots on right nipple.
I am currently pregnant, but was definitely not pregnant the first time it happened, so I feel quite sure it's not related to the pregnancy.
If anyone has found out more as to whether it is something to be concerned about I would love to know.

You said your boyfriend was rough on the nipple play. I wonder if he may have sucked on your nipples hard enough to pull blood to the surface - you know, like a hickey draws blood to the surface of the skin & bruises it. That's what I'm thinking. If you want to test this theory, you can ask him to repeat what he did on just 1 nipple & see if blood spots appear again on that one & not the other.

I was kinda thinking along the same lines.  I would be down for an experiment;), but I am a little scared too.  They really freaked me out!!  Plus, that can't possibly be good for my nipples!! :)

Are you pregnant?  I'm 20 weeks now and I got those bumps around 12 weeks, they look like dark freckles/moles but I dare not squeeze them.  I'd go see the doc if you're not pregnant...

God, I hope not!!!  Sorry, just not there yet (as in married, done with grad school, ready to have babies...someday, hopefully!)  If I am, I would only be two weeks.  I am going in for my yearly physical next week, so I will ask my GP what he thinks.  Thaks for your comments!

There are actually quite a few holes in the nipple for milk to come from, not just the one at the center. So I am thinking that maybe these pore type holes filled with a mixture of oils and dirt from sweat etc.. causing a sort of black head, and you just squeezed the dirt out like we sometimes do with blackheads on our nose.. Does this sound right? Make any sense?
If you notice in red blood discharging from the nipple you should see a doctor right away. Also if you notice any discharge that appears to be infectious. But if my theory is correct, you may notice a recurrence of the blackheads after a few months time. Try to keep them super clean and dry, changing out your bra daily and maybe try a bit of baby powder.
Hope this helps.

mmmmm, I am pretty sure it was blood.  After it came out, it was a maroon color.  If they were black heads, I wouldn't be as freaked out.  But when I saw the color after I squeezed it, that made me a little nervous.  I will definitely heed your advice.  Thanks!!

It's hard to describe.  There was nothing on the areola.  They were in the nipple, but not in the center where milk would come out.  My nipples were a little dry and maybe a little more cracked than usual.  After I squeezed them, they haven't come back.  If they do, I will go see a doctor.  I just want to know if anyone else has experienced.  I have been paranoid lately because a lot of people I know my age (27) have been having some pretty horrible diagnoses and health problems.  Thanks for your help!

It's a bit difficult to picture exactly what you are talking about. Were the specks on the outer edge of the areola or on the nipple itself?
Either way, I must say that finding blood in or around your nipples should be taken care of by a doctor.. Had it been on the skin I would suspect that you had some blackheads which you can get all over the body, not just the face. But I really think you should get this checked out.
Take care.
