Body throws off heat but I feel cold

I have had a problem all my life were I "throw off heat" but for me, I feel frozen. This went away for a couple years and my metabolism dropped so I started gaining weight and I was petite before and am now average weight for my age. But then during the beginning of summer my metabolism went up I think and my body started throwing off heat but feeling cold again and I have lost over 6 pounds without trying during the summer. Other info is I am 17 years old and i weigh 121 pounds and I weighed 128 before summer started. Should I be worried about this or is it just because of puberty.

If you see a doctor about this and he can explain it to you or track down the problem, please let me know.  I have the same thing.  My labs are fine except I have to take iron for anemia, but even with normal numbers I'm freezing all the time.  But people touch me and think I'm like an oven.  My thyroid has never been a problem lab wise.  No lumps found ever.

Hi Kathryn_Danielle,

It might be an idea to make an appointment with your family doctor.
Losing 6 lbs  without trying or not on purpose would be concerning to
me. You could talk about your low metabolism at this time too. Good luck. Eve
