Boy or Girl Myths....My Husband

Anyone know any of the tips for the old myth ways to find out really early on if you're having a girl or boy?  Something with draino or a needle...i just don't know what they are.  ALSO!  let me brag on my husband.  He is being so great!  He left work early today to go pick up the house.  I've been sick all day at work and he's going home to get dinner and the bed ready for me.  He's such a prince!!  Mmmm I love him!

hey, i'n not complaining! i LOVE my life, husband and son...couldn't be happier.
i don't rely on the TV to raise my son. but when he wants to watch something, i let him. Blues Clues and Dora have HELPED him learn the things that I ALSO teach him.
i don't have to have an impeccable household. and just cause my husband is the bread winner doesn't, to me, in ANY WAY, indicate that that's his 50%! i didn't knock myself up, buddy!
my house is FOR THE MOST PART clean and tidy, my son is SMART, HEALTHY, and HAPPY (which i think is more importhant thatn ANYTHING), my husband is happy and treats me like a queen!
so i don't a 4.0 gpa, and i'm not in school (or whatever)...
I'M HAPPY! that's alot better!

How old are your kids? Are they in bed now, while you were typing this or are you interacting with them as you passively aggressivley shock it to the other women on this thread?:(

Trust me, the quality of my work is impeccable, I take the time to run my websites and do my schoolwork (which btw I earned a 4.0 GPA, again this term!) when the kids are sleeping at night or taking their nap during the afternoon.

I don't know why women are complaining about doing the work, many women did it before us with more kids.

And as far as 50/50, when dh works outside of the home and the woman stays home, her 50% is the house, his is the breadwinning. My dh helps with the kids and the housework, but just as I don't go to work for him, he doesn't do my work for me.

And maybe having all of these responsibilities would cause others quality of work to decline or kids to be neglected, but not in my house. We have a great system worked out and my kids are very involved in it, not stuck watching TV all day (btw, how lazy can a parent get, the TV may be on in my house, but they are busy playing with their toys and interacting with me to watch it!)

Anyway, that is how my house works. My kids are well behaved and very intelligent. That comes from having this type of QUALITY time with their mother and their father when he is home. They have all day with me and they get most of the evening with both of us. The bulk of the cleaning and websurfing happens after they go to bed. Too bad others can't say the same...

I agree countrymama.  I work outside of the house, which means my baby is in daycare (and i hate that).  However, I have to clean, cook, wash clothes, teach, play etc when I get home in the afternoon and on the weekends.  I am a firm believer in the fact that it is not quantity time but quality time.  DH and I work together to get everything done.  My praises go out to everyone (including myself).

i puked my brains out for 6 months when i was pregnant with my son...and i craved meat. and his heart rate was high. it's different for everyone.
with this one so far...i've been sick twice , when it didn't like what i ate...lol. all i want to eat is cucumbers and popsicles.
i am a SAHM also....the only "on my butt" time i get is in the morning from  7-9 when my son is still asleep. after that, we're off and running...laundry, dishes, floors, dusting, bathrooms, cooking, playing, errands....BUT, my husband helps too. when he gets home, he takes the kiddo off my hands for a bit so i can have a little down time before i start dinner.
i think i keep my house pretty clean, but if i was running websites and taking classes and whatever else, i'm not sure what kind of quality my cleaning and cooking and child care would hold...unless i just plopped the kids in front of the TV, threw everything in a closet and popped dinner in a microwave! lol

Congrats again. My dh was also like thay with our first PG. He wouldn't even let me carry me purse. He became so protective and considerate! Good for you!

This isn't an old wives tale as for determining the gender of your baby but there is a company that can give you your results as early as 5 weeks pg and results are delivered via mail in 48 hours. It's apparently 99.9% accurate and very easy to use. I know we're not supposed to advocate for profit websites but I'm sure it's easy to google or find in pregnancystore. Com.  Good luck.

Well, when you have kids and are a stay at home mother, you need to take care of the house and your kids. It is all part of that responsiblity, too bad more don't realize it or take the time to embrace the wonder that is motherhood.

Craving sweets--GIRL** Craving salty--BOY
Carry high--GIRL**carry low--BOY
Severe morning sickness--GIRL**Little or no morning sickness--BOY
BIG butt--GIRL** No butt changes--BOY

If you hang a wedding band from a string over you belly and it moves in a circle--GIRL, if it moves back and forth like a pendulum--BOY
These are just a few that I found when looking on Yahoo under Old Wives Tales, GIRL or BOY? There were even some cute little sites where you take quizzes and it predicts from your answers.. Just for fun though.
The one thing that I noticed is that the heartrate seemed to get rave reviews. Seems to be the most accurate.

The ones I listed at the top I found to all be true with my 5 kids except for the morning sickness one. I didn't get sick with either sex, 3 girls and 2 boys and never once had morning sickness.
Who knows how accurate any of it is, the idea is to have FUN and sounds like you guys are having a total BLAST!!!
So happy for you!

I found that 99% of the wives tales were inaccurate for me. I had severe m/s, carried like a watermelon and craved a variety of foods, yet had 2 boys ; ) The heartrate thing was incorrect for me too. Both boys had heartrates (170's).

There are only two sure fire ways to know, amnio and delivery, lol! U/S can be pretty reliable, but not 100%.

Wow, I have an 18 month old son, another son who will be 4 tomorrow and I have plenty of time to clean, cook, and attend full time courses online, take them out running errands, teach them both ASL and spanish, among many other things during the day. I would fall over dead if my husband thought he had to clean the house when he got home from work : ) Don't get me wrong, we work as a team on the weekends to get repairs done and stuff, but during the week I keep everything running smoothly ;-)

I may be a SAHM (not quite the sit on my rump and eat bon-bons type that many think, lol), in reality it means: personal assistant, maid, chef, child care provider, educator, taxi driver, the list goes on and on,lol!

Anyway, the wives tales can be fun, just avoid the dangerous ones like the drano test and also avoid the ones that charge. There is nothing present in your blood that will tell them the gender, nor is there any medical merit to what they claim. Many are fraudulent ways to access personal information.

Enjoy your pregnancy!! Congratulations!

Hi and congratulations on becoming pregnant. The old wives tales are just, make believe,no one can tell you what the gender of your child will.I have all ways went by the heart rate.A low heart rate represents a boy,a fast heart represents a girl. When I had my first baby,I started calling her Tiffany. It was a girl.I all so had morning sickness like crazy. When I was pregnant with my two sons,on different birthdays of course.I barely had any morning sickness, just a little nausia. When you go for your next prenatal check up and they check for the babies heart beat ask the nurse or doctor what the heart rate is.It might help give you a clue or an idea.Just remember don't go out and buy all blue or pink clothes for the baby.Buy the same sex clothes for infants,it will save you alot of time on exchanging them,if you or the doctor are not right.Take care of your self and the baby you and your husband created together.Merry Christmas and best of Luck to you and your new family.Raven33.
