If anyone knows anything about FibrocysticFibrocystic breast disease Breast Disease (sorry if not spelled correctCorrect (new formula)) any info would be helpful. I recently found out through an US that I have 4 lumpsLumps in the breasts on the right and 1 on the left. Two as large as 3.5-4cm and still growing. I had a biopsy but they could only get one good pass and they only checked the two larger lumpsLumps in the breasts. My mother suffers the same condition but does not have cancer. My doctor told me that it was benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo but that I have 5 times greater chance of getting cancer but, any info I have found on thie disease has not given accurate info about cancer.
A friend of mine has the fibrocystic breast condition and she simply keeps having small surgeries to remove the lumps. So far none have been cancerous, but you are right that there is a greater risk, so that is why her doc says to keep taking them out. She was told it will only ease when she goes through menopause.
NO this does NOT make the chances of cancer greater at all! I know its been more then 3 years since this post but I am posting this in case anyone else reads this.
Fibrosis Disease those are two different things.
