They definitely do impair any diagnostic imaging methods. I have worked in a diagnostic imaging deptartment and have spoken with the doctors bouth this since I have a friend who got implants before both her grandmother and aunt were diagnosed. It's not worth it at all.
I believe they have methods now that make it easier to detect cancer with implants in place. A good place to ask this is the Breast Cancer Forum.
