Breast problems

by EDCCS, Apr 20, 2007 12:00AM
A few months ago, I had a cyst in my armpit from shaving too closely and was given antibiotics. While I had the cyst, the breast on that side felt very tender and sometimes quite painful and when I had my arm straight down at my side, it felt like something was swollen in the area. Now, I've noticed that the tender/pain/swollen feeling is back (yes I'm on my period, but it was like this for awhile before my period) and the nipple on that side looks a bit different than the other. I'm only 19, but with all the stuff about breast cancer (which no one in my family has ever had), I find myself growing worried. I'm not sure if the pain is from sleeping wrong/poor posture or a breast infection, but I was just wondering if anyone could help. I'm anxiously awaiting the end of my period so I can do the breast exam, but I'm still worried beyond belief.

It's probably from the infected cyst. I'd call the dr to help alleviate some of your fears. Best wishes.
