Brown Pasty Colored Period

I am concerned about my period this time.  I am very irregular. I haven't started since Feb. 2007 and it is July 19, 2007. I have always been irregular. I have never had pain with my periods but this time my lower abdomen has a tense like pain. I had my tubes tied when I had my daughter in 2001.  About 1 1/2 weeks ago I started having this dark brown pasty colored discharge. I noticed it when I went to wipe after using the restroom (urinating).  I have noticed a little blood along with this but only a little. There isn't blood everytime I wipe or change my pad.  There is no odor either.   I don't know what this is or what I should do. I don't have insurance at this time. My husband just started a new job. Do you have any ideas of what this could be and what I should do?  I am very worried. My e-mail address is ***@****. If you have any ideas please e-mail me.  Thank you!

The brown discharge sounds like old blood and it may just be a very small period. I think that it could wait until you get insurance. Usually that is in 4-6 months. But if you are still worried, check around and see if you have any clinics that offer a sliding scale fee for office visits. They use your income and see what your payment will be. It could alleviate your fears/worries. Best wishes to you.

My best bet is, if the brown discharge has been going on for a year, then you can wait it out until you can get insurance, and go to the gynecologists.
I use to never have cramps eather, for years upon years untill suddenly I started to get cramps and they were very, very, excruciatingly bad. I found out that I had cists that would continue to grow for months at a time. I havnt been cramping since those nasty little spells, but I've been told it's perfectly normal.
My mother never started cramping untill after I was born, and I was her second child.
The problem doesnt sound too bad.
If you can, once you do get a docter, check with him or her to see if you can get put on the pill. Birth control can often regulate these things.
