Brown/Pinkish Discharge

Ok, so i have been onLevlen Birth Control for a little over a year now. I went to the Gyno and asked them to test me for a yeast infection. It was positive, which i knew was the case. Well about two weeks before my period i started getting brown/pinkish discharge that slowly progressed until i got my period. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I am now getting off my birth control (today i was supposed to start a new pac) because my parents don't know i was sexually active. My partner and myself were tested for stds and came up negative. I was wondering if this had anything to do with a yeast infection or if it was due to not taking my bc today?
