Brown discharge...? My period is maybe a week late? Help!

Hi,
I'm just worried and a bit scared. I've been having this weird dark brownish discharge it looks like for the past 4ish days. I had sex on the 27th of Feburary, so about 3 weeks ago now. I had my last period starting around the 6th of Feburary and ended I think on the 11th... so I should have started over a week ago?! Am I pregnant!!? My boyfriend and I didn't use protection and he pulled out and I know this isn't a safe way to have sex, but we got really into it and we forgot. Sad excuse I know. But now I'm really worried! I'm only 18 and I KNOW I'm not ready for kids! I'm so worried... Help me!

I get brown discharge a lot of the time before my periods and i haven't had sex. It could just be that you're irregular or perhaps it's just some old blood.

Thank you everyone! I'll take another test this Friday and see what happens!... and it seems it's more like a dark brown period...?

Which is better you think... the patch or the pill? I've heard people have bad reactions to the pill so I'm hesitant on trying it.

Take another test.  If it is positive, see a doc right away.  You alone will have to decide what to do next.

If it is negative, wait another week and retake the test.  If still negative, go see an ob.

Try the pill or the patch for bc. that way you don't have to worry about "forgetting".

Well, you need to do what right by YOU. It's your body. NOBODY, not even your parents can tell you what to do with YOUR body. :-)  If you don't want a baby, by golly you don't HAVE TO have a baby! Keep that in mind sweetie. The dollor store has tests ( for a dollor! ) Test every day if ya want. But Do go to the clinic near you and check it out. good luck!

Well see that's the thing... Ever since I started my period (12 yrs old) It's never been 'irregular'... and I did take a pregnancy test on Friday but it came out negative... I mean it relieved me for like a day.. but then it came back down to I haven't had my period yet. I can't talk to my parents! Because if I do end up finding out I'm pregnant... she's totally against abortion. It's also a bit embarressing I guess for me since I'm young(not young young but still young ya know) and people like to look down on you on things like this...

Take a test honey. No harm in that right? I know that when I was your age I NEVER have a "normal" cycle. Shoot, I don't even think the color was the same two periods in a row either!  Also there is other options than having a baby. Theres the morning after pill and different stuff like that to help you out. Now I'm not condoning abortion as a way of birth controll, but everyone makes mistakes. The world won't come to an end, I promus. Take a deep breth and take a look at your options. Go from there. I don't know where you live, but you should have some sort or Famly Planning Clinic somewhere. Look them up and give a call to see what it takes to become a pationt if ou don't have parents you can go to. But first and formost, take a home test to give yourself a peace of mind. Good luck.
