Brown discharge a week before period

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about four months now. My periods are usually normal and on time. i never have had any discharge before. But today, everytime I wipe after going to the restroom, I have a dark brown mucus like discharge. It started out light but it keeps getting darker. It isn't pouring out so I don't need a tampon or pad, but it is heavy when I wipe. Could there be something wrong? My period isn't due until the 13th and today is only the fifth. Could it be implantation bleeding? that didn't happen with our two other kids. Or could it be something else? I am not having cramps or anything. just discharge.

Hi, Are you me? HA HA, I have had the SAME thing the last couple of months ttc and it is soo frustrating. 7DPO mine starts (this time)and still waiting for AF. Should come yesterday or today. I just made an appt. w/my OB because I have read it may be a sign of Low Progesterone. I keep wanting to think it is some kind of implantation but each month I'm disappointed. It may be different for you though! Good Luck!
